The overall condition of the vessel is that it needs some work. The hull appeared to be in good shape with no large gauges or scratches. The engines/engine compartment was dirty and had some standing water. The port engine hatch felt soft; starboard engine hatch is plywood. The swim ladder is broken. Stock #156635 * * Motivated Seller * * Twin Mercruisers with Velvet Drive Transmissions, Tunnel Drives This 1979 Penn Yan 30 SF (Sport Fish) flybridge has tunnel drives, a large aft cockpit area, and creature comforts below decks should you be away from the dock overnight. The flybridge is accessed via a stainless-steel ladder with teak steps. The helm is center aligned and features gauges, switches and controls to monitor and run the boat. Seating on the flybridge consists of a pedestal seat for the captain with two bench seats to either side. The seat bottoms open to reveal storage beneath. The cockpit is large with lots of room to work lines and fish the cockpit utilizing the 11' 10" beam. The cockpit has a deck rail, large engine hatches, under gunnel cleats, and a wash down. Stepping through the sliding salon glass door into the salon you'll find the galley area to the immediate left. The galley is outfitted with a stove, oven, sink, along with cabinet and drawer storage. Opposite the galley to port is the enclosed head. A manual flush head, sink with faucet, and mirror are found in the head. Forward of the head is a dinette that converts to a sleeping area for two. This 1979 Penn Yan 30 SF also has a dual helm station located below. The helm also features all the controls necessary to run and monitor the boat's systems. A V-berth forward provides sleeping accommodations for two. There are also shelves on either side.

This vintage 1979 Penn Yan 26 Fisherman is a very versatile boat that will appeal to a wide range of boaters, from hardcore fishermen to those who just want to go out for a day cruise with the possibility of spending the night onboard. She's equipped with twin Mercruiser 228s on a closed loop cooling system that runs 13" bronze props, fitting perfectly inside Penn Yan's amazing tunnel hull drive. This is one amazing classic boat. An absolutely fabulous hull - a great design put out by Penn Yan. It will cut thru 6' waves at the moderate speed all day with no effort. We are using it for skiing since it plops out of the water quickly and moves fast to 35 - 40 mph speeds. The Manatee friendly hull draws 14"-16" of water, it will beach where no other inboards would dare to go, build for 13 people and a really large dog. Penn Yan’s were not cheap to buy new because manufacturer put some serious material in them. Weight 3600 lbs. It has beautiful classic boat lines, it looks elegant but it will work hard if used for serious fishing. It is very stable open and roomy.The shallow shaft angle, allows the engine to sit low in the bilge, thereby giving it a superior balance characteristics. Chevy 350 small block, has new plugs, battery, pertronix ignitor II, bilge pump, brand new propeller shaft and the bushings, runs quietly and will develop high rpm, no strange vibrations. The velvet drive is smooth and runs cool. Manual included. Overall mechanical condition of the boat is exceptional. Teak deck is sturdy and it does not twist or wobble during the climbing in. In contrary to some tunnel drive critics in respect to the fuel economy, my experience is actually quite positive. If you would bring this boat just off the wake it will hit the sweet spot and glide economically. The bottom paint may need some attention if the boat is to be left in the water for longer periods of time than couple of days, as we are using it for. The boat was never in the salt water and it was always stored properly during the winter. Canvas for the back and new windows are included and are currently being fitted with all new zippers. Hydraulic trim tabs/pump are included but not installed on the boat, fixed tabs are installed and they work great. The boat will plane within seconds from idle, without finking with the switches. Trailer coms with two additional spare wheels/tires in near new condition. Trailer had a new hitch and hydraulics replaced last year. Boat comes with 3 pairs of skis, hot dog tube for 3 people, wests, ropes etc. One solid classic boat, thank you for interest.

I am selling my 1977 Penn Yan 24 ft. Boat. This boat NADA's for over $13,000. I want to upgrade to a much larger boat and cant keep both. I did a lot of work to it. It has a Chrysler 360 5.9 L engine in it with a tunnel drive prop. Seeing how I work at a marina everything in it has been well maintained and replaced every spring. The motor runs great its a strong powerful boat. I bought all new switches to put in it so if it sells I will replace them. I also will put in a new water system and sink and faucet if sold. As you can see from pictures I have been refurbishing piece by piece. I took all the old fish finders and radios and antennas out to put the new in but haven't gotten around to it yet. Everything you want done to it I could do before it goes. It does NOT come with a trailer, I don't have one for it. Every spring the travel lift drops it in the water and I dock on the canal all summer. I will clean it before it goes as a courtesy. I will also do a tune up, New fuel filter, Battery Check, Oil filter, Oil change, Spark plugs, Plug wires, etc.... for free. Up for sale is this classic Penn Yan Blue Fin 23 center console in good condition. This boat has been stored for 6 years due to an estate situation. The previous owner had repowered the boat two seasons before his death so the current motor is said to have low hours. Since my purchase I have "moved up" and no longer use this boat so she is for sale. The vessel has a HUGE deck area for fishing. The hull is the Penn Yan tunnel drive design which is said to be able to cruise through water as shallow as 18 inches. All and all a great designed boat that will need some restoration to bring back to it's full potential. HULL: The hull is in good condition with the normal scrapes and dings that would be expected on a hull of this vintage. there is a cracked area in the gel coat on the aft starboard corner which appears to be from a void in fiberglass under the gel coat from manufacturing. This should be a simple fix with some filler and gel coat, and paint. None of the other scrapes affect the integrity or performance of the hull. The bottom has anti fouling paint. TOPSIDE: The topsides are in good condition. Most of the topside areas are a bit dirty from storage but have no significant fiberglass damage. There is some rubbing on the rub rail but is strictly a cosmetic issue. The bow rail is in good shape without breaks or bends but some of the bases and stations are corroded and need replaced. The aluminum hard top is sound and in good condition with some flaking paint. COCKPIT: The cockpit area is a wash down design but there are areas where the decks are soft and will need some repair in the future. There are a number of hatches and doors on the decks that are all in place except for one. Some of the deck hatches are too soft and will need some repair. The seats will need recovered but they will make good patterns for a template. There are a few stress related cracks in the dash area gel coat but nothing that will compromise the integrity of the deck. ENGINE & COMPONENTS: The motor is a 230 hp MerCruiser / GM which is basically a 350 cu with a 2 barrel carburetor.. The engine is was repowered before the storage period and is said to have two season of use. The motor is fresh water cooled and looks to be in good condition with the exception of surface rust and peeling paint. I have not attempted to start the engine and it is being sold "as is". TRAILER: The trailer is a galvanized Load Rite ez loader type roller with tandem axels. The boat fits well on the trailer and it appears in good condition. The tires have some weather checking but nothing significant. The trailer brakes have been disconnected and will need serviced to make in working condition. If you do not want or need the trailer I will keep it and subtract $1000.00 off the total purchase price. Here is a rare 1978 Penn Yan 26 Sport Fisher Twin in VERY nice shape! 26'9" length; 10' beam; draws only about a foot and a half or so of water, and props and shafts are protected in the molded-in "tunnels" (i.e. "Tunnel Drive"). Thesec boats were built in upstate NY and prized on the Great Lakes for their stability in the rough chop which is characteristic of the lakes. They are well-built heavy boats- not very fast, but made for fishing, with a large wide cockpit. This baby was repowered with twin short-block Chevys, for reliability, ease of maintenance and power. They purrr like kittens. Fresh water cooled. Runs and drives PERFECT! Structurally the boat is solid. No soft spots or rot anywhere on the decks or transom (a rarity!). Comes with custom 2006 triple axle trailer- 12K lb. GVW. I just installed new brakes and bearing buddies (which is why one wheel was still off when I took the pics!). Tows great- come and tow it home! This is a really nice trailer! Boat has 6KW Kohler generator. Central A/C (works perfect) Working electric fridge (may be dual voltage...not sure) Stainless steel windlass and anchor. Outriggers Dual controls Canopy cover for flybridge. Clear title in hand.
