1998 Post Marine 42 The Post 42 is built on a low-deadrise semi-V hull with a shallow keel and a wide 15-foot, 9-inch beam. Like many convertibles her size, the 42 comes with a conventional two-stateroom interior, however the rich appointments, excellent joinery, and quality furnishings set her apart from much of the competition. The salon features a builtin entertainment center and facing settees, and Post engineers even managed to squeeze a laundry center into the companionway. Topside, the Post’s extended flybridge is bigger than it looks with seating for eight, rod storage, and a well-arranged helm console. Because the bridge ladder is recessed into the bait-prep console, the cockpit—partially shaded by the bridge overhang—is less cluttered than many convertibles. Notable features include teak interior joinery, a top-notch engine room (accessed from under the deckhouse step), two in-deck fish boxes, transom door, and bow pulpit.
