1993 Whitebread Racing Sailboat ‘Yamaha’ was the overall class winning Whitbread 60 in the 1993 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race.  She was skippered by Ross Fields and at the end of the race she was taken to California where she became the basis of the America’s Challenge campaign for the 1997 race. After the campaign’s new boat was built; Yamaha was used very little; by 2001 she had all but stopped sailing and went into a long storage period.  Essentially therefore this boat has only sailed a few thousand miles since winning the 1993 race.  9 months ago that storage period ended and Yamaha had $20,000 of work done on her underwater sections to prepare her for a new operational life.  Work was begun on the interior repainting the yellowing Kevlar/epoxy interior into a fresher shade of white, new batteries were bought, the main engine and generator’s 175amp 24v Alternators were rebuilt by Lewco in Long Beach, the engine bay was cleaned and the main engine and generator overhauled, the electrical system was checked through by a professional and the sail inventory unpacked. All this preparation was ahead of the boat being brought round to the Atlantic with another Whitbread 60 to become part of a new race charter organization (www.spartanoceanracing.com) but as it was there was only time to prepare and move one boat in the available timeframe and so Yamaha was left in San Pedro which is a great environment for this kind of boat being very dry, with low humidity. The plan is to return to California next season and bring her South to the Panama Canal and on to the Caribbean as we did with our other Whitbread 60 this summer. We offer here for sale only to create options for ourselves as a new start up company.  An opportunity exists for a new owner to allow us to charter the vessel each year at an agreed price thereby creating  an income for themselves whilst still owning one of the world’s most famous offshore racing boats.  If you want to learn more about this boat contact the agent and they will put you in contact with me Chris Stanmore-Major the current owner of the boat and I can talk you through the details.

Prindles cannot normally be trailered with rudders attached since the original up lock system depends on the rudder floating in the water and is not strong enough to support it on the road where it bounces around Trampoline is new and was only sailed on about half a dozen times or so. Trailer is in good shape and has new LED lights and fresh paint from last year. This boat can sail today. We are looking to sell our 27' Catalina sailboat we have been living aboard the past year. Its a great small sailboat for learning for the family or a singlehander with a big suite of sails. This boat is older but still in great condition. The hull is great shape with a dry bilge, standing and running rigging are in good shape, and the sails are all in good condition. We are able to email or text pictures of anything and can take you on a sea trial if desired. This boat will be picked up in person or buyer will have to figure out shipping. Mooring fees are paid up until January 31, 2015 and can stay in Seward small boat harbor as transient. In Alaska boats are not titled but subject to a $25 registration fee and no taxes! Up for sale is my 16' Prindle. The main sale is multi colored and in very good shape considering this is not a new boat, the jib is solid Yellow. The Boats pontoons are in very good shape with no soft spots. The Trailer is Aluminum and also in good shape and has bearing buddies installed. I have not sailed in years but have sailed extensively on both this prindle and other sailboats. The 16 Prindle handles the heavy wind far better than a hobie and very importantly can be self righted when/if you flip it by just one person. This point can not be overstated you dont want to be stranded in the middle of the lake because you are sailing an 18' It will take a weekend to clean up and to do the intisl setup. On a prindle each rudder is raised and lowered manually and independantly of the other by two different lines, for a total of four four foot lines. These lines are about three to four feet long each. These lines are available at lowes or home depot in the rope section and cost a total under $10.00. It is easy with just a coat hanger to re-line your rudders in about 20 minutes and is part of good maitenance to do on who evers prindle you adopt. Besides this just a good overall cleaning and waxing much like you would your car. The trailer has Michigan plates but the tabs are expired. I contacted secretary of state today and was told that boats under 20' in Michigan do not have title but just a bill of sale, please feel free to confirm this independantly with the Michigan Secretary of State office. All the other ropes and block along with the main and jib sails and the boom, Mast and cables, have been stored inside and are in excellent condition. I am no longer including the trampoline so you will have to buy a new one. This is good because new trampolines are so much better than the original trampolines that came with these boats. The reason is you tend to slide across these tramps very often as you move from port to starboard under the boom and vice versa and nothing is worse than the original trampoline for this or a modern trampoline with burs/small inperfections. You also want a trampoline that will be smooth to slide across without any obstacles in the mat ie Straps, Gromets, Rope and in my opinion rope pockets. See Aromic Tarp Website for 16' Prindle Mats. http://www.atomictarp.com/catamaran_trampolines?id=catamaran_trampolines&bas=&categories=4 The prindle is at my home on commerce lake in Commerce Township, MI. It is loaded on its aluminum trailer in my driveway. $650 firm 248-266-2045 or 248-894-6387 Emailing is the easiest way to reach me, I check my email often thru out the day and can respond to any questions quickly.

Reconditioned Artekno h28 race boat for sale: $6995.00 The h28 has been in production since the mid-1970s. The current European fleet numbers in excess of 6000 class boats that have been built by four yards over the years. If you Google Artekno h28 you will find pictures and videos showing how well the boat performs and why it continues to be an active fleet. With a fine entry and narrow beam the boat works well to windward and moves easily in light air. While the boat races with a crew of three it is easily sailed by a single sailor. The boat is currently set up for singlehanded daysailing. Halyards are led aft to the cockpit and all mainsail shaping controls—boomvang, outhaul, and Cunningham—are controlled at the aft end of the boom. The main sheeting system is on top of a new Lewmar #2 traveler mounted on a stainless steel mid-cockpit bridge that includes a new Edson grab bar. The main is new and is integrated into a Tides Track System®. The new low stretch jib sheets lead to new Lewmar #16 self-tailing winches. The headstay sports a Harken foil with luff tape feeder. Current auxiliary power is delivered by a Minnkota 55# thrust electric trolling motor. With ice chest, fenders, shore power, new dock lines, rewired 12 volt system with new battery and lifelines with stanchions and pulpits, the boat is ready to go sailing. I estimate that I have installed close to $10,000 in new equipment to recondition the boat for fast and fun sailing. As rigged the asking price is $6995.00. There are two power options available as an alternative to the trolling motor: a 5hp Mercury four stroke long shaft outboard with stern mounting bracket—an additional $500.00 or a Torqeedo 1003L long shaft that can mount on the side or rear of the boat based on personal preference—an additional $700.00, battery not included. New major equipment list: Mainsail and jib. Bow and Stern pulpits stanchions and new life lines. Tides track system. Lewmar self-tailing #16 winches. Nautos deck organizers and 3X and 2X rope clutches mounted on custom teak boxes. Vang-Master gas hydraulic rigid boomvang. Two Harken Magic Boxes® for sail control. Harken headstay foil with luff tape grove. The boat is listed locally as well. I reserve the right to pull the listing at any time.

Model ZUMA

This is a beautiful ZUMA sailboat with a Trailex 250-L aluminum trailer. The boat has large comfortable seating surfaces, a classy looking rudder and centerboard and a really nice reverse transom. This boat looks like a mini yacht being towed down the road. It is a Vanguard built boat, laid up by hand in Portsmouth, RI. It has only been sailed a couple dozen times, and has the original bright gelcoat finish. It has been covered or garaged for most of its life, and it shows. As the pictures taken in the last year or so attest, it looks wonderful. The ZUMA was made by the same folks who build the Laser; but the ZUMA, in my opinion, is much nicer to sail with two people than the Laser. It is a fun boat that is not quite as high in performance as the Laser, but is easier to set up, and requires, perhaps, less athleticism too. It has a zippered luff, so that the sail can be raised and lowered with a halyard; meaning the mast does not have to be lifted in and out every time with the sail already up like a Laser. It takes just minutes to set up, and requires little maintenance. It does move along quite nicely, too. Beginners can sail this boat; or folks like me, with over thirty years of sailing experience, can enjoy it too. The ZUMA is good for almost any age sailor. The boat only weighs 130 pounds and can be towed by most any car out there with a hitch. Be sure, of course, to check your particular car's owner manual. Trailer and all, the towing weight is only around 275 pounds; thanks, in part, to the compact and lightweight alluminum trailer. This boat looks like it is only a year or two old, and it comes with nifty extras. The NORTH sail is in wonderful, almost new, shape. But that's not all. I include a virtually new Neil Pryde sail too. Both sails are very nice looking; and you can change the look of the boat in minutes with just a sail change. It has a Harken tiller extension on a beautiful laminated tiller, and the single bulkhead port has been expanded to two, with storage bags in each port. The lines are all like new and bright in color. The traveler block set is upgraded to the one piece design from the Laser. This package includes a rudder cover and an APS centerboard storage bag. I will also include a HAWK wind indicator, and other little extras (tie-downs, etc.). The SILVA compass was standard on the ZUMA, and is, of course, included. The Trailex 250-L aluminum trailer supports the boat by the gunwales to avoid stress on the bottom. The tires (with galvanized rims) are less than two years old, and I will include a brand new spare with galvanized rim. The spare tire is not mounted on the trailer; but can be stowed in the trunk of a car or back of a truck. The trailer comes with rear LED lights, too! There is also a custom Sunbrella boat cover included. The cover, as might be expected, is the one thing that shows the most signs of wear. It has done its job of protecting the boat, though, and should continue to so so for quite some time to come. New covers should be readily available when this one needs replacing. Pictures tell a good story; but here is some additional information regarding the pictures provided here. The sailing pictures were taken in June of 2014 on the Intracoastal Waterway between Pensacola Beach and Navarre. Most pictures show the boat before the second port was added. Some ZUMA's came with one port, some came with two, for seemingly no rhyme or reason. The boat looks much more balanced with two, and it's handy for extra storage too. Storage bags for the ports are included. I also include two spare port storage bags. Also included is a small oar that can be stored inside the hull. The oar was sized to fit right through the port. An important note: The ZUMA logo on the top of the boat was removed earlier this year. I hated it, and thought the boat looked much more refined without it. I had no intention of selling it when it was removed a few months ago. I kept one of the vinyl letters so that it could be reasonably matched by a sign shop; if you were so inclined to put a logo back on. It looks (IMO) so much nicer now. The boat has some small crazing of the gelcoat here and there (like most any fiberglass boat), and there are a few scratches, but none of that detracts from the overall beauty of the boat. There is normal wear and tear and some rust on the leaf springs of the trailer, but overall it really looks like a year or two old boat and trailer package. You have to see it to appreciate it. The boat is in Tennessee, and if you are within driving distance, it awaits your inspection. I have always taken really good care of my boats. This boat was owned originally by a friend who worked in the sailboat business. He has always taken, perhaps, even better care of his boats than me. It is almost impossible to believe how good this boat looks for its age. Of course, nothing's perfect, but your friends may think it's a new boat. This boat could be a Christmas gift come true for someone wanting to mess about in small boats. New boats of this type start at prices of around 5,000; plus shipping and other costs. The aluminum Trailex trailer alone sells for about 1,100.00. A second ZUMA sail and other extras make this all even more worthwhile. This is truly a good deal. I have copies of the original point of sale literature that will be included with boat purchase; along with the rigging manual for the boat, and assembly manual for the Trailex trailer. I also have the title papers for both boat and trailer. Please email me with any and all questions. Local pickup only, please. You could have it shipped after you buy it; as it would be your boat, but to insure your satisfaction, I would definitely not recommend it. The boat is located about midway between Memphis and Nashville on I-40; with lots of good hotels nearby. I want you to see it, look at the gear, and be completely satisfied before you drive away. This Great Deal Going Off eBay on Thursday! ******** Special note to any would-be buyers living in or near Memphis: This thing would be absolutely perfect for the new, expanded, coming soon, Patriot Lake. What a great place! (well, it will be when they put the water back in next year) ********
