1968 CAL 34 CAL 34, 1968, Yanmar diesel, in the water and ready to sail, for sale in Stamford, Connecticut. The C William Lapworth designed Cal 34 is a successful cruiser/racer; 347 hulls were built between 1968 and 1975. This is one of the models that built the reputation of the CAL name and Jensen shipyard for strong, easy sailing classic yachts, built with integrity. CALs are known for their lasting quality, roomy interior, great headroom, and today are popular for live aboard. Baka is a fine example of this class. She sleeps 6 below in the traditional forepeak (2), main salon (2) and after berths (2). The head is forward, separating the forepeak from the main salon, marine toilet to starboard, sink and vanity to port.  The port side dinette seats 6 or sleeps 2. The linear galley is to Starboard with a large top opening ice box, CNG 3 burner cook top and oven on either side of the stainless sink. Aft are two pilot berths great for sleeping in a seaway or entirely too convenient for extra storage. On deck, Baka’s keel stepped mast is not original though we do not know when it was replaced. Rod rigging and the roller furling is clearly also newer. She is tiller steering in a large cockpit. All lines lead to the cockpit. Decks are plenty wide to easy passage forward. Sails are Dacron, a little tired but serviceable. The Yanmar 3 GM diesel is a replacement of the original Atomic Four, again not sure when the repower was accomplished, engine hours unknown, which starts easily and runs well. Baka needs some cosmetic work both above and below decks. She is a good candidate for a live aboard and is perfectly capable of near shore cruising. She is a fine value at the offered price.

They turn 3500rpm while pushing the boat at 27 knots. Cruise speed at 80% load is 22 knots.  Recently replaced Auto pilot and VHF, all electronics are in proper operating conditions.  Kholer Generator has 409 hours Yanmar main motors have 730 hours (Original) Spreader outriggers are included in the sale, had to remove them for clearance under a bridge.   Easy to see in Coral Gables, FL Please contact Axel Stein (# below) for additional info and to schedule a viewing.         The Luhrs 36 Convertible is truly innovative. Although the classic lines and Carolina flare are still there, the real improvement starts in the cockpit. Wide, molded steps rise from the cockpit floor to the flybridge. These BridgeWalk steps allow excellent access both up and down, even in a seaway. They also house an integrated, insulated cooler and a storage box perfect for docklines and electrical cords. Well lit for after-dark operations, these steps will make regular bridge ladders obsolete. The flybridge features ample space for all of the latest in electronics. Steering, controls, and instruments are all placed conveniently. A full half-tower complete with mounting pads for radar and antennas is standard, as are the tackle drawers, livewell, sink, rod holders, and washdowns. Even the coaming fishbox and rocket launcher is included. Many convertibles compromise the salon to accommodate the staterooms, but the Luhrs designers were creative in the layout allowing maximum use of the wide beam to retain an entertainment-sized salon and two private staterooms. Forward, the spacious master provides plenty of storage with two hanging lockers, and plenty of drawers. An innerspring mattress guarantees a better nights sleep. The second stateroom with upper and lower berths converts to a sofa and features rod storage and a hanging locker. To port, the head is large and carries a separate stall shower and plenty of storage. Under the salon steps is a large storage area, perfect for rods, tools, or spare props. A U-shaped settee / dinette will handle the crew, and the television / VCR and stereo / CD will keep them entertained. The galley up is bright, airy and fully applianced.

1972 Ericson 27 For Sale, 1972 Ericson sloop converted to (2013) Mercury 4 stroke 15 hp electric start outboard power located in Stamford CT. The ever popular Ericson 27 has been one of Ericson’s more successful designs. With the fin keel and spade rudder, 2900 lbs of enclosed ballast, the Ericson 27 is an easy sailor, a well handling small family cruiser well adapted for the novice yachtsman or a more discerning club sailor. The traditional masthead rig with the 130% genoa on a roller furling gear makes for an easily handled boat well suited for light airs, but easily stepped down for the occasional more serious blows. She is a relatively stiff boat, dry in 20+ knots wind and easily sailed upwind as well as down. The tiller mate auto pilot makes single handing this boat a breeze even in a seaway. Originally built with an Atomic 4 gasoline engine, this boat has had the inboard removed and is modified for an outboard motor on an adjustable heavy duty bracket. No more fussing with the inboard engine and inherent mess in the cabin space, the reliable 15 hp 4 stroke keeps all the engine mess and gasoline on deck and out of the way, while still maintaining the ease of electric starting and battery charging from the alternator. The interior is the simple traditional Ericson style, probably the feature that has made these boats so popular with cruising families over the years. There are realistic berths for 5 adults between the forward cabin, saloon settees, and the pilot berth. The upholstery is attractive and in excellent condition. The saloon table has a drop leaf, or can fold against the bulkhead. There is a nicely functional galley are with a near centerline sink, traditional ice box and, of course, a 2 burner alcohol stove. Grilling can be accomplished on deck on the rail mounted gas grill. The head is a simple Sani Pottie in a spacious enclosed cabin for privacy. Recent upgrades include new, to code, wiring for the shore power and 110 v battery charger, as well as a new 20 gal freshwater tank. This Ericson is built solid but there is plenty of room for cosmetics and upgrades to add new value to this fine sailing yacht. She would be a perfect boat for a handy person who loves to tinker around on boats. The headsail and main are a bit tired but have some life in them yet. The light air genaker is lightly used and in excellent condition. She is in the water and ready to sail away today in Stamford, CT.

HAVE A 1979/80 36' ALLIED PRINCESS KETCH FOR SALE, WITH MANY, MANY UPGRADES TO TAKE YOU OFFSHORE IN COMFORT AND SAFETY. FOR THOSE THAT ARE LOOKING FOR A SOLID OFFSHORE VESSEL THIS IS WORTH CONSIDERING. I HAVE A 9 PAGE DETAILED SPEC SHEET AND 24+ PHOTO'S AVAILABLE. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL AND I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SEND THEM.   About the Allied Princess: She is a robust character ketch that does not pretend to be anything other than a simple, comfortable cruising boat. In truth, it is a boat only a cruiser could love. Designed by Arthur Edmunds and first introduced in 1972, the Princess enjoyed a 10-year production run during which about 140 hulls were built, which likely makes it the most successful boat produced by Allied during its 22 years of existence (1962-84). Of all the boats Allied built–including the Luders 33, sailed by the famous boy-cruiser Robin Lee Graham; the Seawind 30, first fiberglass boat to circumnavigate; and the Princess is the one that still commands the most loyal following among modern cruising sailors. Though the Princess is undeniably a chunky craft, it is not unattractive. Its somewhat exaggerated sheer line leads up to a high bow, but blends nicely with its moderate overhangs and shoal-draft cutaway full keel. The boat’s performance under sail, though is smooth and steady. The Princess is a bit beamy for a vessel of its vintage, and this combined with the shallow keel and modestly sized ketch rig makes it slow to windward but when the seas kick-up and other light weight boats seek shelter the Princess comes into her own. A ketch-rigged Princess is very versitle and will sail best on a reach. The long keel tracks well, the ketch rig is easy to balance, and together with the non-reversing worm-gear steering found on most Princesses, makes it very easy to leave the helm unattended for long periods. The boat rarely buries its rail, and otherwise has a comfortable motion in a seaway. As with all boats built by Allied, construction is very strong and simple. The Princess hull is solid hand-laid fiberglass–24-ounce woven roving and mat with a surface layer of cloth under the gel-coat–with thicker laminate at the turn of the bilge and down low around the keel. The ballast is lead, glassed over and encapsulated within the keel. The deck is balsa-cored. All bulkheads are tabbed directly to the hull. The rudder stock, impressively, is bronze. For coastal or offshore cruising the Princess is certainly one that deserves a look, she will take you anywhere you want to go in comfort and safety. It will serve admirably, too, as a coastal cruiser in any deep-water locale, as long as you aren’t too worried about getting places in a hurry. With its stout construction and easy motion it is also a good candidate for blue-water cruising. I am the third owner of the Princess, owner #1 was a doctor whom kept the boat in Va. On the hard 6mos out of the year, owner #2 bought the boat in 98 and cruised until 2000 when I purchase the boat and have had her since doing most of the up-grades.
