Offered for sale is a Robert Perry designed Tayana 37 MK II blue water cruiser that will safely transport you around the planet. “Lion Heart” has been very lightly used and has never been used as a live aboard vessel. She has been sailed only in Northern waters in the summers and in the winters she has been stored on the hard and shrink -wrapped . The T37 MKII features non-teak decks, which is a blessing. Her displacement is 22,500lbs, with a 5’8” draft, 11’6” beam, 32 foot waterline, 5’ bowsprit and needs a bridge clearance of 55’. She is a mast head cutter rig and has a deck stepped mast (50’). The beautiful teak and mahogany interior for which Tayanas are famous is like new. The upholstery fabric is comfortable and durable cranberry velour. The king sized V berth features 6 inch foam , fans, air conditioning vent, 2 light prisms, generous storage, lift out section that provides a changing seat. A beautiful mahogany door transforms this space into a completely private stateroom for you or your guests. The head is very spacious and has a separate shower with a teak seat and storage locker. Hot and cold running water is provided by an above the water pump and expansion tank. There are two wet lockers, a large medicine cabinet, and the high quality Raritan toilet is still in production. Opposite the head is a double hanging locker, a bank of drawers, and a large linen closet. The main salon can provide sleeping space for up to four. There is a very large mahogany table that folds out to accommodate 6 to 8 people. The table drops down to form another sleeping area. Foam was replaced in the main salon in 2012. On the starboard side a pullout provides two more berths. Ample storage is found behind the upright cushions on both sides. The main salon also features air conditioning vents, fans, large overhead hatch, reading lights, cabin lights, and an additional fold down table on the starboard side. There is also a Force 10 propane heater for chilly evenings. The galley features an Alder Barbour compressor that provides perfect refrigeration. The refrigerator is very spacious, has two shelves, access from both the top and the front, and a small freezer. There is a two burner propane stove, a microwave, double stainless steel sink, hot and cold water faucets, and a manual foot pump. On the port side opposite the galley is a spacious Pilot’s berth and navigation station where a 3206 Garmin chart plotter with HD radar is mounted. The pilot berth features 6 inch foam, reading lights, air conditioning vent and a separate privacy door. This berth is perfect for long distance passages or provides ample storage if cruising locally. Lion Heart boasts many safety features including red night vision lights along the entire floor line, ample hand holds everywhere, fire suppression system on the engine, automatic bilge pump with an above water pump. The entire hull has been professionally stripped and painted with Oyster AWLGRIP and the bottom was also stripped and barrier coated in 2007. There are custom cushions for the cockpit and a dodger/bimini with an additional sun screen panel. There is also a complete set of lee cloths in perfect condition. It has a classic wooden wheel which is outfitted with an “ Autohelm” autopiolot and an additional Garmin chart plotter . On its canoe stern are stainless steel davits which are strong enough to support a dinghy filled with water with you inside bailing it out. There is also a stern mounted radar pole on which a Garmin HD18 radar dome rests (2010). On the port side of the stern there is a vented propane storage locker with a back up solenoid on the main electrical panel. On the starboard side is an additional locker for storage of dock lines. The Starting battery is a 12Volt Interstate and was replaced in 2014. The house bank consists of 4 6 volt Interstate Deep Cycle batteries that were replaced in 2010. A new Phase 3, 50 Amp battery charger was installed in 2011. There is also a 5 gallon electric water heater coupled with the heat exchanger on the engine. The Cruisair air conditioning can be used in any of three separate zones. Also included is a 2KW portable Honda Generator in excellent condition It comes with its original Neil Pryde Main sail, jib and staysail. The rigging is in excellent condition and features Sta-Lok turnbuckles all around. A 35 lb CQR anchor, chain, and 200 feet of nylon rode is also included along with a host of other items too numerous to list. The stainless steel and wood boom gallows assures safety for all aboard. It has a 30 HP Yanmar diesel engine in perfect working condition, and a 100 gallon fuel tank. There is also a 100 gallon stainless steel water tank. In addition there are two 3 inch thick binders containing detailed information on all of the repairs and upgrades carried out on this vessel since she first came to the United States in 1984. She is fully documented by the United States Coast Guard and holds a current registration in New York State. “Lion Heart has been very lightly used up to this point and is most eager to fall into the hands of an owner with aspirations of sailing the seven seas.” Lion Heart is currently on Lake Champlain where she has been sailing for the last five years. The cutter-rigged Bob Perry design features easily driven lines with a cutaway forefoot and a prismatic coefficient of .52 for great performance in light air, and the shallow body with firm bilge section provides the stiffness needed for heavy winds. The cockpit features a large helm with autohelm chain driven self-steering,rare early stainless and bronze Aries wind vane, wrap around weather cloths, custom dodger with teak decking providing slip-free traction. Onboard equipment includes auto pilot, 24-mile radar with mounted spotlight on the top of the radar swing, TWO depth sounders - one with knot meter. Lighthouse 1501 anchor windlass, Three sails - Main, cutter, jib -- all in good condition. Auxiliary Perkins 50 hp diesel with approximately 1,000 hours on it supplies power when the wind is down.
