This boat is a solid center console all around. The floor pads are in good shape. All of the electronics are working properly. The engines are in excellent working condition. The T-top is solid and in good shape. The stereo sounds great. The trailer is in good shape too. The cowling for the port engine has a crack and was taped over. This was done by the anchor of another boat at the dock. Stock #288492 1977 Formula Thunderbird, customized into an open center console. Powered by 2021 175 HP engines, trailer included! Unique and ready-to-go Formula 23 Custom Center Console with 2021 Suzuki 175 HP engines. Once a Formula F233, this center console was stripped down and modified to take advantage of a proven hull in a center console configuration. The new layout offers lots of space to move around and storage compartments. Aft, there is a bench with a backrest right at the transom of the boat. Below the captains bench a new removable live well have been added. At the helm, all your controls are easy to reach and operate. There is a nice 360 view around the vessel from the helm position. Inside the center console, you have your 3 batteries and all of your electrical connections. Also, there is plenty of room to store gear here. Last at the bow, there are lots of seating areas, right in front of the console a cooler with cushion and backrest, and a U-shaped seating area right at the bow. Overall a well-built boat, with a comfortable layout on a proven hull. Add two 2021 engines and you have a one-of-a-kind fishing and cruising machine. Reason for selling is not using it.

An original 1969 Formula 233 designed by Don Aronow at Thunderbird, and was the original "The Cigarette" boat(see first picture) that revolutionized offshore boat hulls. This was my boat from 2008-2013 and used regularly. I pulled the original Mercruiser 165 to rebuild in 2013 and never put it back together due to having a new boat given to me. The engine and outdrive are not included in the auction. However, the trailer is included. The boat has been sitting in my barn for 2 years and needs to find a new home. The canvas was new in 2011, but is filthy from sitting. The cockpit sole(floor) is pretty solid. Carpeting was removed, and I had replaced a soft spot by the engine compartment with new marine plywood and fiberglass(see newly painted white area). Much of the teak was recently refinished with Sikkens. The 2 pedestal chairs are also brand new and have not been completely installed(see pictures). The cabin doors were also refinished but are not screwed back on(set in place for pictures). Boat was used only in freshwater(Lake St. Clair). I apologize that I forgot to take pictures of the cuddy cabin, but there is little to be seen-it's dirty, but not scary. Gage cluster was totally rewired with modern marine electricals, complete with a new fuse block. Much work has been done to this boat, but much still needs to be done. Bring your own powerplant-boat could have been ordered with single inline 6, twin inline 6's, single small block, twin small block or single big block! This is an amazing off-shore hull(just google Don Aronow formula 233 "the Cigarette") that is becoming very hard to find(at least one that is not a total wreck). It is on the original trailer that tracks and pulls well with newer bearings and bearing buddies. Trailer tires have excellent tread and are not checked or cracking(stored inside). The trailer winch will be re-installed before the winner comes to pick up the boat(just replaced retrieval eye on boat). Please ask questions and bid to win! 1981 Formula Thunderbird, This 1981, F233 Formula Thunderbird Sport Fisher is 23'6" long. She has a powerful Chevy V8 that will do 40-45mph. This salt-water boat is in good condition and has a heavy V hull and interior cabin. Her rails are 32 high from her deck floor. We have landed 100s of Salmon and other sport fish on her from Half Moon Bay to the Farallon Islands to Point Reyes. She has about 350 hours on her engine. This boat can reach up to 50mph!! This boat comes in as a trade, in very good condition, and maintained to a tee by her previous owner. So, is there a down side? Formula boats first gained national recognition in 1962 with their 233 model which earned several victories on the offshore powerboat racing circuit and Formula boats have long been known for the "go-fast" persona established by these early models. However, for over 20 years, Thunderbird Products, the parent corporation of Formula Boats, has also built performance cruisers. The 27 PC (Performance Cruiser) was introduced in 1994; it remains in production and is currently the smallest and most popular of the company's "cruiser series" of boats which includes models up to 41 feet. The overall length of the 27 PC is actually 28' 3'" including the molded swim platform. The design is in the genre of what has become known as mid-cabin sport cruisers, characterized by an open cockpit, slightly raised steering bridgedeck and accommodations below. Although not as extreme as some boats, the hull is still in the "deep-V" category and the 18 degrees of deadrise is a very good compromise for power and performance in this style of vessel. Displacement of the 27 PC is specified as 9,500 lbs. and, compared to five similar boats, is a whopping 33% heavier. Because manufacturers seldom specify under what load condition their displacement is measured, it is difficult to fully evaluate this weight difference but it certainly suggests a vessel more substantially constructed than the average. Formula 27 The 27 PC's hull and decks are constructed of a composite of hand-laminated fiberglass materials. A modified epoxy resin is used in the first two layers of construction in order to improve the appearance of the finish coat and provides greater resistance to osmotic blistering. Formula uses structural reinforcements, which includes a matrix of stringers and frames similar to other manufacturers and also adds supports into the hull bottom for added strength in areas below fuel tanks and engines.
