Boat Owner’s Notes for 1985 Tiara Continental 2700 – Call Boat Owner Mayo Sommermeyer (970-420-9775) or Barbara Sommermeyer (970-222-9976). Boat is in Pensacola, Florida. OVERVIEW: The 27’ Tiara with comfortable-riding 9’10” beam (trailerable) is great for day boating, fishing or fully contained cruising for a couple, or family of 4, with a heavy deep V hull - both seaworthy and seakindly - this boat being owned, loved and meticulously cared for by 20-year owners and same master marine mechanic and always hangered when not in use, so this boat shows like a much newer boat since Colorado owners used boat only during visits to the Pensacola area each year (so don’t be a bit concerned about it being a 1985 hull – this is a GEM!). FEATURES: This cruiser has a large cockpit area for lounging or fishing with comfortable upholstered seating across stern and at helm seat, king-size V berth and double helm berth, nice galley with two-burner electric stove, deep stainless sink and new NORCOLD refrigerator, hand-made teak table in V-berth area that lowers to make up bed, 2-year old hot water heater, AC/Heat, shower hose/nozzle in teak enclosed head with stern fresh water hose as well, with 5 KW KOEHLER gen set with sound shield for comfortable sleeping, on hot afternoons, use the full cockpit umbrella stored in PVC tube while underway and enjoy two deck chairs, complete linens and galleyware, excellent condition upholstery and canvas, with latter zipping up for helm enclosure to extend cruising season; other accessories include new fresh water pump, 50’ 30-amp power cord, 50’ fresh water hose; just bring your clothes and you are turn-key ready to cruise! ENGINE INFORMATION: Two MERCRUISER 5.7 outdrives brand new in 1995 (260 HP with only 900 total hours) power this boat beautifully with 2800 rpm/25 knots comfy cruise but maximum speed of approximately 45 knots with thorough owner-performed fresh water flush every time in the water, oil changes every 50 hours and antifreeze in engines and gen set every winter; stainless steel risers, bellows 2 years old, new exhaust manifolds 2013, 30” draft, 24” with drives up, so you can anchor barely offshore in coves and at beaches to enjoy the best of all worlds of boating and getting onshore with stern swim ladder and enjoying your destination. INSTRUMENTATION & SAFETY: USCG current, 4 PFD’s, VHF, Garmin 720 GPS (2 yrs old), depth gauge, engine blower/sniffer, CO2 and ABC extinguishers, 18-lb. Danforth with 300’ of 5/8” rode, 2 9-lb Danforth “lunch hooks,” AM/FM radio, mooring harness for equalized load on two bow cleats, spare engine belts, spare bulb kit, two spare stainless steel props, tool kit with prop wrench, first aid kit, flares. FINAL NOTES: Though this boat has never been fished, it sure could be a great fishing boat with the perfect “creature comforts” for all aboard, as we have loved both day-boating and cruising in the Florida Panhandle bays, intercoastal waterway and Gulf of Mexico, with total comfort in calm or rough water, with mood-lighting in cockpit and below and lots of beautiful teak inside and out, nights spent at Marina’s and at anchor are charming and cozy, making it difficult to return to our condo after a day or a week on Sommer Sault – our family will miss her and you and your family will love her! SO much boat and amenities for a tremendous price point! If you have any questions about the boat or want to arrange an appointment to see it, call Mayo at 970-420-9775.
