I can provide a couple great videos of a tour of the boat and the engine in action upon request. All you have to do is ask!I can also provide a copy of an appraisal I received valuing the vessel at the $11,000 - $13,000 retail price. A late in the season steal! Email: [email protected]: (214) 625-3359 - Ryan I have a beautiful, lake-ready 21' inboard engine speedboat. The boat was bought new by my family and was passed down to me. It is a closed bow V-hull that seats 7 and is great for tow sports and cruising. There is a teak swim platform that I remove while storing the boat in the driveway. The boat has always been stored in my driveway with a cover. For the last 5 years, it was stored under a large shaded tree, until the last month when I moved into my new house (pictures from new house).Toyota made a line of boats from 1999-2002 and only ~700 of this model were made. The owners of these boats (including myself) are very passionate about the brand and keeping them humming 15 years after they were first made. Check out epicmarine.com and read some of the forum entries. They also have brochures, part sources, and a lot of great tutorials on proper maintenance that I've been meticulously following for the past 6 years. The inboard engine is at only 573 hours and is identical to the Lexus GS400 V8, just modified to spin a prop. It always starts the first time. There's plenty of power to pull skiers/wakeboarders/etc. and has 45mph top end speed fully loaded. If you plan to trailer, there's storage space savings with a swinging tongue and removal teak swim platform. I replaced all of the upholstery with a custom job in 2010. The carpet is original and is finally starting to show some wear. In addition, the outer paint job has some dings and scratches. Minor cosmetic and quick fix projects will bring this boat back up to mint condition! I use a pylon instead of a tower, which I will include, but the boat is tower ready as well. Also included (if desired) are 2 tubes, 2 pairs of skis, a beginner's wakeboard, 7 life jackets, ropes, bumpers, anchors, spotlight, and my fake-a-lake kit. Everything you'll need to be out on the water same day! Here are some maintenance stats:Annual maintenance including winter water drain and changing of oil & filter, tranny fluid, spark plugs, water impeller.New timing belt and drive belt tensioned - 2012New water pump and thermostat - 2012New ignition coils (x8) - 2012New battery - 2012New gauge computer - 2011New steering cable - 2011New trailer jack, winch strap, tires and bearings - 2011 I have been able to find plenty of marine mechanics who will do work on the boat. Any automotive mechanic who knows the Lexus engines also knows the ins and outs of this engine. Usually they are so interested in finding a Lexus engine in a boat, they diagnose it for free. Sold as is to best accepted offer. Here is an excerpt on the history of Toyota boats (from epicmarine website): Toyota decided to get into the inboard ski boat market in the mid 90's. They enlisted the help of some of the most prominent boat designers in the industry. They spared no expense, hiring sophisticated engineering and design firms such as Shadow Composites and Maritech to design and build a state of the art boat from the ground up. The engine used in the Lexus 400 was chosen, and was marinized at the Tahara factory in Japan. It differs significantly from the automotive engine as it is designed without emission controls and has higher compression and more aggressive camshaft profiles. Extensive testing was performed on the engine, even so far as to freeze the block solid with water in the block to prove that it could handle any environment. The focus was on absolute reliability and low maintenance requirements to maximize water time. The first boat to be released (July 1998) was the Epic 21 closed bow ski boat. it garnered great reviews and was seen as a glimpse of the future of inboard watersport boats. Later that year Toyota introduced the Epic 22 open bow, and the same boat with a tower and automated ballast package as well as some special trim, the Epic X22. It was the "Official Gravity Games Towboat" in 1999 and 2000. Keywords: boat, speedboat, Toyota epic, wakeboard, Malibu, Nautique, Mastercraft, Moomba, Sea Ray, Supra, Tige, Centurion, lexus, lake, V8
