Just took this 1989 31 foot Formula F-311, SR-1 boat on a trade. Have not even had time to detail it yet. It will clean up nicely. I rather like to see them like this first, so I can inspect it without any cover ups. So I will show the pictures as it was. It is in great mechanical condition.It also is in great shape in the upolstery,and fiberglass. Showing no signs of damage anywhere. It has twin Mercruiser 454 c.i.d. engines,with TRS Mercruiser outdrives. Stainless steel propellers, drive showers, and a stainless steel tie-bar. Boat has docking lights, and all the usual ammenities that comes on a Formula in this vintage. This boat has a very nice dual axle Myco trailer that is included with it. Up for sale is my 1978 Donzi Hornet II which has been fully restored. I will touch base on all the specs in this posting. Please read the entire add before asking questions that may have been answered.First and foremost, the only reason I am selling this boat is to help pay for an addition to my house and help with a wedding. I DO NOT want to sell this boat and I have invested more than my asking price without what I paid to purchase the boat. This boat has been in the family since the early 1990's and always maintained. In the mid 1990's the entire structural part of the boat was redone and restored. The top half of the boat was removed. More like a cap off restoration. The stringers, bunks were removed and new wood along with fiberglass was installed. The entire bottom half of the boat was completely redone and it sure shows. The boat is super clean where it matters most. The boat drives like a charm and handles the water extremely well. The entire "top half" of the boat was redone as well. The fiber glass was sanded, repainted and clear coated. The entire interior was redone with new vinyl for the seats and new carpet for the floor. During that time the original engine was removed. A 1970's Chevrolet 4 bolt motor was installed which was mated to a TRS Drive. The internals were removed and replaced with all marine components. Fast Forward to 2013. I finally picked the boat up and was mine. I decided to redone the engine and "freshen" things up. I removed the 1970's 454 that was in the boat and dropped it off at RPM's Engines in Westwood, New Jersey. I advised the builder "Doc" that I wanted a fully built engine with all quality internals. The block was checked for cracks, etc etc.The block was in great shape and was reused. The builder kept stressing to me how solid of a block I have and was impressed that it was a 4 bolt rear block. During the build I boughtall new forged internals; Crank, Rods and Pistons. The engine was bored .10 over as I wanted to keep it as close to stock as possible. The compression if I remember correctly is 9.5-1. The heads are aluminum edlebrock marine performer rpm heads with all crane internals; push rods, roller rockers and valves. I went with an aggressive lope, crane roller cam. The engine has maybe 20 hours on it and was only used in fresh water 5 times. The motor is perfectly healthy, sounds absolutely beautiful and runs like a phenomenal.I bought a brand new Stainless Marine (out of Miami) exhaust manifolds and risers mounted to a 3" gil stainless steal tip which cost roughly 2900.00 alone!. The motor has a 1970's corvette 750cc carburetor which was rebuilt summer of 2014 by Steves Carburetors in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. The motor mounts were custom to allow the engine to mount and sit properly in the boat. The TRS drive and transmission were fully rebuilt in the late 2000's and has zero issues. The drive is build to handle roughly 450HP and 450 FT/LB TQ. The drive is still in perfectcondition and handles great. I do not abuse the engine or drive, I always accelerate at a moderate rate to reduce the change of any added stress to the drives. The drive is mated to a 24inch prop. (BOAT FLYS)The boat has a gil stainless steel water strainer, gil stainless steel exhaust tips, exhaust tip housing, I bought new new oil and power steering pump oil coolers in the spring of 2014. I bought a brand new steering piston, installed new cables for the steering as well. I replaced all the belts and hoses on the boat as well. All brand new 1 1/4 inch marine grade hoses. All new hose clamps (t-bolt clamps). I had the alternator rebuilt. I had all new gauges installed in the summer of 2014 by Hardin Marine. Gauges are black in color, look sleek and are 100 percent accurate. Boat also has a magneto distributor which I had the magnetos redone in the winter of 2013. I am honestly forgetting something but I replaced just about every single nut and bolt when I rebuilt the engine. I had the drive removed and had the lower unit sealed.I installed a new gimble housings, two new TRS drive lift pistons all brand new and replaced. Money was not a factor when I decided to fix all the issues. The boat became a project once i started to redo the engine and rebuilt everything else. The boat is 99 percent done and does need some small attention to detail areas. The boat has a brand new bilge pump but needs to be wires. Everything is ran, just not hooked up. The windshield seal is old and could be replaced. The steering wheel needs to be replaced as it shows signs of being dirty. The bad:-I am an honest person and am probably being to anal but I would rather disclose everything about the boat. The interior is in good shape but does show some signs of wear and tear in some spots. I would say the boat shows more signs of wear on the blue vinyl. The white seats all appear to be in good shape.-The gauge panel has a small crack but is barely noticeable-The boat does have a few small "stress cracks" mainly on the rear of the boat near the latch-The rear of the boat where the hatch opens and closes does show slight use. I would say with a good compound and wax, alot of the small scratches will be removed.-Some of the paint is chipped on the TRS Drive but the drive works perfectly so who cares! Other than that, the boat is a true beauty, I get compliments where ever I go. The boat sounds like a hot rod and draws attention every where. This is a true turn key boat! New impeller last season along w/ all accessory drive belts. Oil & filter changed as well as fuel filter. New batteries last season. Has isolator switch to turn off or connect both. 2008 BoatMaster all aluminum trailer (has spare & surge disc brakes) Custom Marine Headers (stainless) exit under swim platform. Original TRS Drive I've had it push 63-64 @ 5150 rpm on the GPS, but the really nice thing is it cruises around 40-45 at 3500-4000 rpm...Hence making it a relatively fuel efficient for a boat, not that there is such a thing. The dash is the original Excalibur Marine Dash, but with "newer" Gaffrig Gauges w/yellow bezels. I also replaced the Hydraulics. IE: Trailer Trim Pump and Rams, and Internal Power Steering a couple years ago. The cabin is very plain, completely open with a bench on each side, a little storage area in the very front of the bow, and Porto-Potti area in the V berth. It has a Clarion Head unit & amp as well. The boat has always been outstanding and reliable on the water, and VERY mechanically sound. Interior & seats have a couple rips from age.
