1978 Uniflite 42 Convertible Do you want a safe, diesel powered boat to take the whole neighborhood fishing??? Look no further than this inexpensive alternative to a beat-up or fished-out deadrise. The Uniflite 42 is a rugged West Coast fisherman, built on a solid glass hull with an enormous 14'9" beam.  The aft cockpit is huge and can seat or fish a crowd.  You access the salon through a large door to starboard. Entering the interior you have a large salon and an inside helm to port.  There is great engine access because almost the entire floor can be opened up to gain access to the engine room.  Forward and down several steps you will find the galley to starboard.  To port is the convertible dinette. The dinette seats 4 and sleeps two. There is a separate stateroom forward with a V-berth. There is a head with access from the hallway and the forward stateroom. Topsides you find an over-sized helm. It is powered by twin Detroit Diesel 6-71 naturals with approximately 1500 hours. The engines start with the push of a button. 2013 survey found no major issues.

1981 Uniflite Sedan 42,This 42' Uniflite with a 14' 9" beam and a 35,000 lb. displacement is the ultimate sedan convertible when it comes to stability. This boat has the most complete electronics suite I have seen. This Alaska veteran is waiting for her new owner to take her North, with her Ni-Brl Props. Her enormous cockpit is ready for partying, fishing or relaxing while anchored. The electronics are of a caliber you usually find on a commercial vessel. http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/pl_boat_full_detail.jsp?slim=broker&boat_id=2655122&ybw=&hosturl=gigharbor&&ywo=gigharbor&&units=Feet&access=Public&listing_id=980&url=&hosturl=gigharbor&&ywo=gigharbor&

The PowerBoat Guide had this to say: The Chris 425/426/427 Catalina began life back in 1971 as the Uniflite 42 Double Cabin. She turned out to be one of Uniflite’s most popular boats and earned a reputation for sturdy construction and a practical, well-arranged interior. In 1984 Uniflite ceased operations when the company went bankrupt. Chris Craft bought the molds (as well as the old Uniflite production facility in Bellingham, WA) and resumed production of this model the following year, calling her the Chris 425 Catalina Double Cabin. While she looked exactly like the old Uniflite from the outside, the Catalina had a fresh interior layout with walk-around queen berths fore and aft—something the Uniflite 42 never had during her production years. The 425 designation lasted only a year; in 1986 she was called the 426 Catalina and benefited from a restyled and enlarged fly-bridge. The 427 designation came in 1987 and there were no further updates of significance.
