1975 Van De Stadt 45 Cutter Coquette is a 1975 45-foot Van de Stadt cutter, for sale by motivated seller. The Van de Stadt pedigree is obvious in this sturdy vessel (google "Van de Stadt Hawk" to read about another Van de Stadt). She has no deck coring, so deck rot is not a worry like so many other vessels of her age. Instead, the shipyard used fiberglass stringers in the solid fiberglass hull and deck. A long fin keel and spade rudder make her a great sailer upwind or down. She has safely sailed across the ocean from S. Africa and has circumnavigated the Caribbean several times. She's also been a comfortable liveaboard and local cruiser.Layout: Forward is a large six-and-a-half-foot long V-berth with storage along the hull as well as underneath. A hatch brings in cool breezes. Just aft of the V-berth is a hanging locker to starboard and large shelf storage to port. Moving aft, to port is a large double-bunk mid-cabin with storage in drawers as well as underneath. To starboard is the head, with a famous uncloggable Lavac head. There is a sink and even a small bathtub along with three cabinets. Moving aft is the large saloon, with a long settee to starboard, backed by large cabinets and underneath storage. A vented, bulkhead mounted kerosene heater can heat the whole area on cool nights. To port is a beautifully finished teak table with an L-shaped seating area. The table has an extra fold up leaf for more space. The flat floor in the saloon is carpeted, with access to the 120-gallon water tank and 70-gallon diesel tank underneath. Further aft to port is the galley with new Corian counters, a beautiful stainless and brass Taylor's kerosene stove/oven, and a large refrigerator (needs conversion) recessed into the counter. There's a stainless sink with hand and foot pumps; they are interchangeable and allow saltwater or freshwater pumping. To starboard is a navigation station with four large drawers for charts and additional storage. Aft of the nav station is a long quarter berth with storage underneath. Moving aft is the cockpit, large enough to be comfortable, small enough to be safe in a large seaway. Teak cockpit grates cover the cockpit floor and surround the Edson steering station. Teak inserts are positioned on the fiberglass seats. Like many Van de Stadts, Coquette is equipped with a large hard dodger that protects from wind and spray. The dodger even has a hatch. Two very large self-tailing winches handle foresail duty and two smaller ones take care of the staysail. Aft of the cockpit is a separate aft cabin, complete with a large berth and sitting area with table, lights, a small sink and head. Moving aft is a huge lazarette for fenders, lines, and life jackets.Coquette is powered by a reliable Perkins 4-108 diesel engine, completely rebuilt about 500 hours ago. A feathering Max Prop gives her amazing thrust in forward and reverse.Draws 6 feet with a 12-foo

1971 Huisman Van de Stadt This gorgeous 1971 Van de Stadt designed 39 foot masthead sloop is truly a rare find. One of 2 hulls crafted at Royal Huisman Shipyards in the Netherlands, best known for their superyachts, this aluminum built, teak-decked racer-cruiser has had an illustrious racing career beginning in the late 70s. As Pied Piper she was involved with the illustrious Chicago Yacht Club and placed competitively in many events from the Windy City to Milwaukee. She retired from competition in the early 2000s and has been used as a family cruiser since. The quality of her construction is evident and her sailing abilities well-proven. She needs a little attention here and there but is in sail-away condition and eagerly awaiting the spring. She has a good set of sails and was recently repowered with a 30 HP Volvo turbodiesel, as well as new batteries replaced this year. Her older winches were replaced with new Barients and her running and standing rigging are ready for action. A 2013 survey is available. Her owners are moving inland and all offers are encouraged. Come inspect her classic lines and timeless appeal and be the lucky one who takes her away.

Taaroa is a 1968 dutch design boat, Van De Stadt Trintella I. first generation of fiberglass hullls. this boat can pound on a reef all night long and you will both survive. for more info see specs in link below. Taaroa is my first sailboat... and It was love at first sight. I've been procrastinating to put her up for sale. She's my first baby, and she's a classic. The reason I will be moving off island and on to a different continent by the end of 2014 and need to prepare for it. After much thought, I decided it would be best to let go Taaroa. I bought her because I wanted to accomplish two things 1- become comfortable single handing the channels, 2- live aboard. Taaroa offered me both, with style, and safety. She's big enough and equipped to live aboard, small enough to single hand, and has reputable hull construction for cruising. She's big enough to cross oceans, small enough to fit in the swells which aids in a comfortable upwind sail. With a solid windvane, simple ringing and basic electronics radio, gps, AIS receiver, there's not much hardware to fail. Rigging fixings are simpler and easier. A handful of knots is all you need to know and probably the safest way to go. She has a simple Diesel engine, Volvo Penta 2 cylinder which is plenty to get in and out of ports and cruise along when there's no wind. Simple enough to fix it. See below link for specs and photos. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/efzmrgg912d0fmw/ODq3DAFD4t If this boat sounds like your type of boat, call me for more detailed information and setup a day to come see her. 1997 Van De Stadt Fractional Sloop This is a custom world cruising boat that Beth Leonard and Evans Starzinger built after completing their first circumnavigation.  It was designed and built to be a fast and reliable 'go anywhere' cruising boat, and it has gone everywhere including, round the world, round cape horn, across the southern ocean and above the arctic circle. It is based on the Van De Stadt Samoa design, but modified to be more stable (added ballast), stronger (double framed), quieter and better insulated (3" of foam insulation), stronger and higher performance rudder, lighter in light ship displacement (core panel interior construction and no teak decks). It is finished and fit out it as a rugged and reliable expedition 'working boat', with the intent to be as low maintenance as possible, with bare aluminum topsides and a simple 'un-fancy' interior.
