Boat is in nice shape needs a good cleaning and the wood could be refinished but it is there and in good shape. It has a couch that turns into a bed a dinette that converts to a bed and a V-berth bed. A bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. The kitchen has a 110 volt fridge a propane stove and oven and a sink. Boat has lots of storage and drawers through out the boat. Has a heat and air condition unit that needs the water pump replaced uses lake water to heat and cool. has a upper deck that you drive from that has a marine radio, GPS, and fish finder. There is no trailer with the boat. It was professionally winterized last fall and shrink wrapped in dry storage in Au Gres Michigan. The boat has twin 220 V-8 crusader motors with velvet drives runs excellent boat was in water and used all last summer is great for a weekend getaway and way cheaper than a cabin. The upper deck is great for cruising and seeing things also nice to sit up there and relax with a great view around you. There are no leaks in the boat very solid a few spider cracks around some of the rail bases and small chips on top of deck but doesn't leak.

This is one amazing classic boat. An absolutely fabulous hull - a great design put out by Penn Yan. It will cut thru 6' waves at the moderate speed all day with no effort. We are using it for skiing since it plops out of the water quickly and moves fast to 35 - 40 mph speeds. The Manatee friendly hull draws 14"-16" of water, it will beach where no other inboards would dare to go, build for 13 people and a really large dog. Penn Yan’s were not cheap to buy new because manufacturer put some serious material in them. Weight 3600 lbs. It has beautiful classic boat lines, it looks elegant but it will work hard if used for serious fishing. It is very stable open and roomy. The shallow shaft angle, allows the engine to sit low in the bilge, thereby giving it a superior balance characteristics. Chevy 350 small block, has new plugs, battery, pertronix ignitor II, bilge pump, brand new propeller shaft and the bushings, runs quietly and will develop high rpm, no strange vibrations. The velvet drive is smooth and runs cool. Manual included. Overall mechanical condition of the boat is exceptional. Teak deck is sturdy and it does not twist or wobble during the climbing in. In contrary to some tunnel drive critics in respect to the fuel economy, my experience is actually quite positive. If you would bring this boat just off the wake it will hit the sweet spot and glide economically. The bottom paint may need some attention if the boat is to be left in the water for longer periods of time than couple of days, as we are using it for. The boat was never in the salt water and it was always stored properly during the winter. Canvas for the back and new windows are included and are currently being fitted with all new zippers. Hydraulic trim tabs/pump are included but not installed on the boat, fixed tabs are installed and they work great. The boat will plane within seconds from idle, without finking with the switches. Trailer coms with two additional spare wheels/tires in near new condition. Trailer had a new hitch and hydraulics replaced last year. Boat comes with 3 pairs of skis, hot dog tube for 3 people, wests, ropes etc. One solid classic boat, thank you for interest.

Every effort has been made to accurately describe this vessel. However, it is a 44 year old sailing vessel and your buying decision should be solely based on your own experience and expertise or that of a qualified marine surveyor. Stock #307204 Most of the Work Is Done!! Lots of Upgrades and Improvements!! Tune the Rigging and Sail Away!! Are you looking for a spacious liveaboard that can easily sleep 5-6 people comfortably? This 1980 Formosa Spindrift 44 is your answer. The current owner searched for over three years to find this specific make/model. Since owning it he has worked tirelessly 6 years to restore and upgrade her. Unfortunately, although much of the work is done, his health prevents him from finishing the task. She is cutter rigged with the furling forestay on the bowsprit and a staysail boom. The sail inventory includes a mainsail and roller furling jib that has not been used since they came out of the sail shop after being restitched/reconditioned. There is also a hank on staysail that appears to be in serviceable condition. Having the standing rigging checked and R&Rd by a certified rigger is still on the "To Do" list. All the running rigging is new, with the exception of a couple of lines, and the new line is on a spool below to complete those. Ground tackle includes a new Vulcan 25KG with 300' of 3/8 BB chain. There is also a 60# CQR with 20' chain and 1" rode (total rode unknown). There is a Maxwell horizontal windlass with chain gypsy and rode drum. Electric power, in addition to shore power, is provided by two (2) Solarever Photovoltaic 315W panels flowing through an Outback Flexmax controller and feeding four (4) 100Ah AGM batteries. Additionally, there are two (2) Duracell SL34 MAGM batteries and two (2) flooded lead acid batteries (motor start). Navigation and communication equipment were all replaced in March of 2021 and all connected via a NEMA 200 backbone. These include Garmin Autopilot, chartplotter, and radar. There is also a Standard Horizon 25W Matrix VHF and a Standard Horizon Eclipse GX1400 VHF. All equipment boxes and documentation are still on board. There is also a Pro Mariner ProSport 12 battery charger and a Schumacher 2000W power converter. When not under sail power is provided by a Ford Lehman 80HP diesel engine pushing a Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission. With the 300 gal fuel the range of this vessel is significant. The engine has a new water pump, fuel pump, starter, alternator, and damper plate. The heat exchanger and oil cooler have been cleaned and serviced and there is a new fuel polishing system installed. Below the boat is very spacious. The galley has a double well stainless steel sink, a Force 10 stove/oven, and a microwave. The original refrigerator/freezer space is being currently used for storage, although the refrigeration unit is still there, and there is a stand-alone refrigerator and a stand-alone freezer. There is a Dickinson heater (diesel) and a residential window air conditioner that is easily removed. There is space to sleep 5-6, and 2 heads. Currently, the aft head is being used for storage. There is a considerable amount of storage. Outside, the bottom and the hull above the water line were painted about two years ago and are in good condition. The top deck is wide open with wires leading to turn buckles anchored to outward chainplates. The top deck appears to be in good condition with no "soft spots" noted. However, it is due for a paint job and all of the brightwork needs to be oiled. If your looking for a full-time live aboard, or just a comfortable, stable cruiser, this full keel 1980 Formosa Spindrift 44 could be just the boat you're searching for. Living your sailing dreams is in reach. Don't miss this opportunity!! Reason for selling is health issues.
