The PowerBoat Guide had this to say: Viking’s first fiberglass motor yacht design, the 43 Double Cabin is essentially a Viking 40 Convertible with a full-width aft cabin. The floor-plan of both boats is the same from the salon forward, and the Double Cabin shares the same proven modified-V hull as her convertible sister-ship. Clearly dated by today’s styling standards, the two-stateroom, galley-down interior of the 43 Double Cabin was originally configured with twin berths in the aft cabin. The dinette converts into a double berth, and both heads have separate stall showers. While the salon dimensions aren’t especially spacious, the aft stateroom is quite large and includes a pair of hanging lockers. Topside, the after-deck is a fine lounging area and only a couple of steps down from the bridge with its aft helm and seating for six. Note that the wood grain mica interior of the 43 was upgraded to teak in 1982, the last year of production. Gas engines were standard. For Sale by Owner. Excellent condition. Great boat for fishing or cruising. Boat has twin 454 Crusader 330 hp. engines with 805 hrs. Engines and transmissions were replaced in '94. Transmissions are Borg Warner 5000 series with 1 to 1 ratio. Boat cruises at 25 mph @ 3200 rpm and 35 mph wot 4400 rpm. 200 gal. fuel and 40 gal. water. Tanks are fiberglass. No ethanol fuel ever used. Fresh water wash down. 600 ft. anchor line with 7 ft. stainless steel chain and a Fortress no. 17 aluminum anchor. Also has a bow pulpit for the anchor. Boat sleeps four and has a stand up head. Galley has an alcohol/electric stove, stainless steel sink, refrigerator and plenty of storage. There is a four seat booth that makes a bed for two and a v bunk forward that sleeps two. The booth also has storage under the seats. The beam is 11.5 ft. and has a large cockpit where 6 people can fish in comfort. There is a large fish box under one of the hatches. The helm is on the fly bridge which has a captains chair and a bench seat that will seat four. It has vhf radio, fm radio, and a Lowrance Elite 7 GPS and bottom recorder. There is a large compass and engine synchronizer. There is a fiberglass swim deck with a stainless steel 3 step ladder, a large live well and fresh water wash down. I am the second owner and have had the boat since 1982. All service and maintenance has been done by myself or Viking Boat Works. The boat is been kept on a lift at my home in Madeira Beach, Fl.
