The owner purchased it way back in 1967 and has kept it in his family ever since. An extensive overhaul / restoration was completed in the late 1990s. In 1992 they installed a Chevy 4.0L V6 engine (190 HP) The original engine was only 130 HP. Always stored on a trailer in a garage when not in use. The 17 Deluxe model is a famous one. It has 2 bench seats front and back, similar to classic cars. Seating for up to 6 to 7 people. With the boat only weighing 1805 lbs, the 190 HP engine makes this beauty glide on top of the water. ESTATE SALE 1971 CHRIS CRAFT 42 COMMANDERAFT CABIN TWIN FORD 460 C.I. STRAIGHT DRIVE INBOARD ENGINES Classic 42’ Commander Aft Cabin with many expensive upgrades. This has been a local Lake St. Clair boat since new. Her most recent owner of 15 years spent much time and money on upgrades over the years. This boat is being offered for sale due to the owner’s passing. The previous owner re-powered this boat approximately 100 hours ago with big block 460 c.i. Ford V-8 motors coupled to new Z.F. Hurth transmissions. These motors are naturally aspirated and feature custom stainless steel exhaust, new shafts and 4 blade props. The owner easily spent what we are asking for the entire boat, just on the re-power alone. Other custom professionally crafted upgrades include:· Teak bow pulpit· Anchor Windlass· Stainless Steel railings to replace original life lines· Teak toe rails replaced· Radar Arch· Enlarged galley with full size fridge and built-in microwave· Aft Cabin queen size bed to replace twin beds The electronics on the boat are vintage. Radar, GPS, Depth Sounder, Trim Tabs, Spotlight and gauges are all in working order. VHF, Sniffer, Horns are not operable. The hull is in very good condition, very shiny, with no signs of major repairs or damage. The spray rail stainless cap has a few dings on either side towards the aft on both sides. The bottom is very good with no build up of bottom paint. It would appear that the bottom was stripped in recent years. The Canvas is in good condition and includes top, side curtains and straight back-drop as well as helm, Captain’s seat, aft deck seats and bow seat covers. Exterior seating all in good shape. The cabin headliner is good. Cabin soft goods are in need of replacement. Carpet, bedding, curtains are all dated. These upgrades would make the boat a star! Also, the forward V-berth cabin needs new wallpaper. The Two Marine Air/Heat units function properly. Onan 6.5KW Generator starts, but won’t stay running, needs tune-up. 1952 Stacy Riverboat Co. Turbo Diesel This is a custom built "True Vintage River Boat" with a lot of character, class and history. The three (3) owners over all these years had the same vision. The wanted a real river boat, stronger and custom made like no other on the market. They wanted to travel in comfort, entertain and enjoy our mid-American waterways. This last owner actually lives in New Mexico and Florida; but wanted this vessel to retire on. The owner spent (9) years rebuilding the hull, engine room, underwater gear, decks etc. Recently, he and his wife' experienced health issues and reluctantly decided to part with this vessel. She needs finishing on the inside to fit your taste. However, you will not be disappointed because she will turn the heads on any port of entry. The Three Bills is documented, 64 ft long and 17 ft wide with very wide gangways. The hull inside and below deck has 5 separate comparments for added integrity. The interior has "teak" 2x4's and the exterior is EZ-Kleen Vinyl siding and fiberglass over head fore and aft. There is work shop aft and access to the engine room via the aft deck to starboard. She has twin 1975 165 hp Perkins diesel engines and only 680 hours approx. each. Estimated cruise speed is12 knots. There are a couple pages of improvement descriptions, changes, upgrades and a complete description of how the bottom and all repairs were completed. Anything under deck has been replaced including the rudder system. It has 2 inch stainless engine shafts with modern dripless stuffing boxes. The upper pilot house is 16 x11, main salon is 14x14 and there is plenty of room for storage, a well equipment galley and dining for six (6). The entire boat above the waterline--including the railings and mesh screening on both deck levels were ground, wire brushed and chipped down to good raw steel then primed and painted with two (2) coats of fresh paint. This finish is not yacht Bristol finish, but is a very good working boat finish and should endure easily for many years to come. It has an all Steel bottom. The bottom was repaired, replace and refitted with 1/4 inch plated steel 4 feet either side of the centerline along with any ribs and engine mounts that were questionable. The engines were detached and hoisted. All mounts were rewelded and strengthened and the entire below deck was repainted. The attached photos shows the care this present owner took in refurbishing this vessels. The drive sections were re-aligned and redone with the same care; which can/will be described upon on your inspection. That includes shafts, struts, rudder etc. There are zero hours on the new hull and the rudders are 22x42 (new). We will tell you about the props later.
