For sale is a one of a kind 2003 Cobalt 240 Wake Edition powerboat in Beautiful Black. This extremely rare 240 is in excellent condition in and out and it shows. It is loaded with every available factory option, including all the major upgrades that were available from the factory. This Cobalt also has a couple custom options that you will not see on any other 240 anywhere. Please read the entire description to truly appreciate all this amazing boat has. I have included 45+ pictures. You will have to double scroll to see all the pictures or it will cut off. This Cobalt is a true cross between luxury and performance with seating for a dozen. It was optioned with the top of the line Volvo Penta 496 8.1L engine ($19,050 upgrade) and a Volvo Penta Duo-Prop. (Dual Stainless Steel Propellers). Overall it is 26' long with the extended swim platform. The extended swim platform ($2482 option) is removable for storage. (24' long when removed). This Cobalt has only 169 hours on it and it shows like new throughout. You will not find a cleaner/lower hour 240 anywhere. The interior and exterior are in excellent, like new condition. Rarely will you ever see such an equipped boat with this many factory options. The full list is at the end. We are the second owners of this amazing boat. It has always been stored in an indoor heated facility during the winter months. It has been professionally winterized/summerized each season. It recently had a full service workup and is water ready. This boat has an incredible amount of storage throughout. This 240 performs like no other boat I have ever been in or owned. It navigates choppy waters like Lake Michigan with ease, tracks precisely at any speed and has the power and torque to pull multiple wakeboarders/skiers out of the water effortlessly. It will run to 65 MPH in strong fashion. There is nothing like the sound of a big block motor. This 240 is equipped with a FACTORY COBALT STAINLESS Wakeboard Tower Package, including a Black Sunbrella WakeTower Bimini Top. ($8050 option). It also has an optional dual wakeboard rack in the rear lower compartment and a watersports rear view mirror. ($395 option). This 240 also has the gorgeous Stainless Steel Docking Lights. ($1080 option) What makes this Cobalt 240 so rare and sets it apart from the rest is that it was ordered with all the major upgrade options. There were very few 240’s optioned with the 496 engine upgrade, Factory Stainless Wakeboard Tower Arch, extended swim platform, docking lights, LED lighting, and the list goes on and on. It also has a couple custom add on options. This 240 has a custom made Faux Teak wood padding on the ENTIRE rear of the boat. It is on the walk-through, the upper deck, the wet locker, and the extended swim platform. It was custom made and installed with Cobalt logos designed into both decks. It is stain resistant and soft as cotton. It has an anti-slip surface and grips bare feet/shoes when wet. This is the same decking you will find on brand new high end boats. This was a $1500 add on and was done this past season.. See pictures below. This 240 has a pair of underwater Blue Ocean LED Puck lights below the rear extended swim platform. This makes for an AMAZING glowing pool for ambiance or night swimming, and a fantastic glowing afterburner effect when cruising. ($1000 upgrade). It was added this past season. It also has custom LED swim platform lighting (See Pictures) This 240 was ordered with all the Options for Covers. It has both Bow and Cockpit Snap covers, as well as a full mooring cover. All the covers are in excellent condition. It has a good size head (bathroom) with a light, fan and porta-potty. Other add-on factory options include: Swim Platform LED Lighting, a 10 Gallon Fresh Water Transom Shower, the Wood Trim Dash Package, Air compressor for water toys, Air & Water Temperature gauges, and Depth Sounder. Transom Walk through Stereo Remote, a Transom Tilt Switch and a stainless Flag Pole Holder. It has the optional power Telescoping Anchor light that raises on a switch. It eliminates the need for a manual stick light in the evening. The boat also has a brand new premium audio system that sounds fantastic. Polk Marine Certificated speakers, an iPhone, iPod, android, MP3 ready head unit with USB and aux input, and amplifier. There are 2 bow speakers and 4 cabin speakers. A Starboard (driver’s side) Stereo remote lets the driver control the stereo while driving. There is also a transom remote to control the stereo from the rear. This is my Sunbird Corsair 200, 20 foot, 4.3l GM V6 190 HP Sterndrive Bowrider. It is an OMC boat, outfitted with the 190HP GM 4.3 L V-6 and a 1996 Volvo Penta SX Outdrive. The new drive was a factory replacement, after the original Cobra failed repeatedly under warranty. Quite an upgrade since the SX is bulletproof and still used today. The motor itself is a gem. Super reliable and it runs the whole season without the oil ever getting dirty. I have replaced the fuel pump, both water pumps, belts, coil and ignition, battery, and most every other wear item over the last 2 years. The boat is wrapped and stored every year. The boat has top speed of about 42mph, but I have it propped for quicker planing and better mid range cruising and family type use rather than top speed performance. I have seen the same boat model go well over 50mph, but I had no desire. The bow has been modified to be a fishing platform as the photos show. It is well constructed with pressure treated framing, Marine Plywood and Stainless hardware. I added a 24v Minnekota Power Drive V2 Trolling motor with both foot control and co-pilot key fob remote control. It is powered by dual 12V batteries beneath the platform with a Minnekota onboard recharging system. This was done last year, so everything is still like new. The motor and charging system alone were about $1200. The interior has been replaced with completely new Veada Seats that were custom made for this vessel 18 months ago. They were $1100 with a 3 month wait. There is also a $500 Kenwood 4 speaker Marine Stereo System The dash gauges were mostly inoperable, when I got the boat. So I replaced most of them with an in-dash Garmin 521S GPS/Fishfinder. I can't say enough about it. Again, less than 2 years old. The boat and trailer have all paperwork and are both currently registered. Title is clean with no liens. The trailer is in excellent shape and has new bearing buddies and new tires. I will consider delivery to you. I am semi-retired, so I can afford the time. We would have to calculate a fair price for mileage, etc. Here is the catch...The prop shaft is 0.015"out of round. I banged the prop on a few too many rocks earlier in my boating career and this is what happens eventually. I knew this going into the season and that it would eventually make the outer prop seals out of round and cause them to fail and leak oil. Well, it is starting to leak. The fix? My shop has quoted me $1300 to replace the 15" shaft and replace all the lower seals. But after looking at what is required in the service manual, I think I would have dropped the lower unit this winter and tackled it myself and it would cost under $100. It doesn't look that difficult for a DIY-er. The boat is still very usable. No further damage is going to occur as long as the gear oil is maintained. So I am willing to take serious buyers out for a test ride. If you add up the value, there is more in electronics and seating than my asking price for the entire package. And the package includes all safety equipment (flares, jackets, ropes, oars, 20lb anchor) boat cover, fender buoys, and extras.I would reasonably sell it for $5500, with the seal/shaft fixed and in peak selling season. So I am being realistic and discounting it accordingly. But it is a good solid boat with no hidden issues that is a really decent deal for the right person.
