For sale is a one of a kind 2003 Cobalt 240 Wake Edition powerboat in Beautiful Black. This extremely rare 240 is in excellent condition in and out and it shows. It is loaded with every available factory option, including all the major upgrades that were available from the factory. This Cobalt also has a couple custom options that you will not see on any other 240 anywhere. Please read the entire description to truly appreciate all this amazing boat has. I have included 45+ pictures. You will have to double scroll to see all the pictures or it will cut off. This Cobalt is a true cross between luxury and performance with seating for a dozen. It was optioned with the top of the line Volvo Penta 496 8.1L engine ($19,050 upgrade) and a Volvo Penta Duo-Prop. (Dual Stainless Steel Propellers). Overall it is 26' long with the extended swim platform. The extended swim platform ($2482 option) is removable for storage. (24' long when removed). This Cobalt has only 169 hours on it and it shows like new throughout. You will not find a cleaner/lower hour 240 anywhere. The interior and exterior are in excellent, like new condition. Rarely will you ever see such an equipped boat with this many factory options. The full list is at the end. We are the second owners of this amazing boat. It has always been stored in an indoor heated facility during the winter months. It has been professionally winterized/summerized each season. It recently had a full service workup and is water ready. This boat has an incredible amount of storage throughout. This 240 performs like no other boat I have ever been in or owned. It navigates choppy waters like Lake Michigan with ease, tracks precisely at any speed and has the power and torque to pull multiple wakeboarders/skiers out of the water effortlessly. It will run to 65 MPH in strong fashion. There is nothing like the sound of a big block motor. This 240 is equipped with a FACTORY COBALT STAINLESS Wakeboard Tower Package, including a Black Sunbrella WakeTower Bimini Top. ($8050 option). It also has an optional dual wakeboard rack in the rear lower compartment and a watersports rear view mirror. ($395 option). This 240 also has the gorgeous Stainless Steel Docking Lights. ($1080 option) What makes this Cobalt 240 so rare and sets it apart from the rest is that it was ordered with all the major upgrade options. There were very few 240’s optioned with the 496 engine upgrade, Factory Stainless Wakeboard Tower Arch, extended swim platform, docking lights, LED lighting, and the list goes on and on. It also has a couple custom add on options. This 240 has a custom made Faux Teak wood padding on the ENTIRE rear of the boat. It is on the walk-through, the upper deck, the wet locker, and the extended swim platform. It was custom made and installed with Cobalt logos designed into both decks. It is stain resistant and soft as cotton. It has an anti-slip surface and grips bare feet/shoes when wet. This is the same decking you will find on brand new high end boats. This was a $1500 add on and was done this past season.. See pictures below. This 240 has a pair of underwater Blue Ocean LED Puck lights below the rear extended swim platform. This makes for an AMAZING glowing pool for ambiance or night swimming, and a fantastic glowing afterburner effect when cruising. ($1000 upgrade). It was added this past season. It also has custom LED swim platform lighting (See Pictures) This 240 was ordered with all the Options for Covers. It has both Bow and Cockpit Snap covers, as well as a full mooring cover. All the covers are in excellent condition. It has a good size head (bathroom) with a light, fan and porta-potty. Other add-on factory options include: Swim Platform LED Lighting, a 10 Gallon Fresh Water Transom Shower, the Wood Trim Dash Package, Air compressor for water toys, Air & Water Temperature gauges, and Depth Sounder. Transom Walk through Stereo Remote, a Transom Tilt Switch and a stainless Flag Pole Holder. It has the optional power Telescoping Anchor light that raises on a switch. It eliminates the need for a manual stick light in the evening. The boat also has a brand new premium audio system that sounds fantastic. Polk Marine Certificated speakers, an iPhone, iPod, android, MP3 ready head unit with USB and aux input, and amplifier. There are 2 bow speakers and 4 cabin speakers. A Starboard (driver’s side) Stereo remote lets the driver control the stereo while driving. There is also a transom remote to control the stereo from the rear. Another great feature of the 240 is a table that pops out from the cabin floor to serve the rear L-Bench. It can also be dropped mid-way to form an extended Lounge Sunning bed, or simply stored in the floor when not in use. (see pictures). Perfect for lunch, drinks, card games or sunning. It was has the optional bow filler cushion to turn the front bow into a lounger/bed. ($335 option)Touches of class and quality are everywhere. Stainless Steel Cup holders throughout, Italian leather wrapped sport steering wheel and LED lighting throughout the interior. The trailer IS included with the sale. This 240 is sitting on a custom Dorsey Premium Paint Matched dual axle trailer. It is setup with custom chrome wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, bearing buddies, spare tire, LED lighting, step plates and 4 Brand New Tires. The trailer was a $7250 when new. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is our personal family boat. This is one of the best boats that I have owned. That's saying a lot considering I have owed 4 Formula boats. This boat is awesome for water sports, lounging and handles great in tough waters. The cockpit space is very well thought out. This is my first Regal and have been very impressed with the quality of hardware and material. We enjoyed the boat but found limited time to use it with our kids being so busy with sports. Below is information about the boat. Distinguishing FeaturesThere are several distinguishing features that separate this 24 FasDeck from the crowd:•Innovative Aft Sun Pad.The aft sun pad can accommodate up to six different positions in order to enjoy reclining, lounging and cruising either facing forward or aft.•Gas Assist Struts on All Storage Hatches. This makes for easy opening and no need to hold the hatch open while loading up the compartment.•Massive Head Compartment. Not only is the head area huge but it's finished to perfection. Probably one of the nicest heads I've seen in class.•Fusion Marine Stereo.Rather than follow much of the industry and just drop in an automotive stereo into the boat, Regal went with a Fusion stereo built specifically for the marine industry.•Higher Freeboard. One of the weak points of many deckboats has been their low freeboard which can make them wet in choppy, windy conditions. Regal solves that problem with a high freeboard that has been carefully camouflaged with graphics and color to look lower than it really is.The RX version also includes the hull side sport graphics.Performance and HandlingLong experience testing Regal boats has shown that their patented FasTrac hulls handle well, and this 24 FasDeck RX is no exception. Her stepped hull offers quick acceleration with a nominal 16-degree bow rise which causes no loss of visibility to the horizon. Regardless of how aggressive I got in the turns, the 24 FasDeck hung on as if she were on rails with no sign of annoying chine walk at the top of the roll. When operating at flat-out speed I did notice just a little bit of chine walk. With an empty weight of 4,580 lbs. (2,077 kg), three quarters fuel, two people and test gear we had a test weight of 5,142 lbs. (2332.4 kg). Powered by a 300-hp Volvo Penta 5.7 Gi we reached a top speed at 5000 rpm of 48 mph. At that speed we were burning just over 24 gph for range of 75 miles. Best cruise was found at 3000 rpm and 24.3 mph. At that speed I measured a fuel burn of 8.55 gph for a range of 107 miles. We reached planing speed in 2.8 seconds, 20 mph came and went in 4.9 seconds, and we continued accelerating through 30 mph in 7.4 seconds. That is a very big pond, indeed, that the Regal 24 FasDeck is playing in. That is why she has a freeboard slightly higher than in many other deckboats which were designed for small mid-western lakes.Features InspectionLet's start our look at this innovative boat as we step aboard from the swim platform. The walkthrough entryway is over to the starboard side so the helm allows the captain a clear view of the swim ladder. In the center of the transom is a mount for the optional pedestal table ($538), significantly adding to the functionality of this aft space. A Flexiteek swim platform deck is standard on the RX version and offered as an option ($1,000) on the non-RX. Tucked neatly into the transom are trailering brake lights. By plugging a patch cable in from the tow vehicle to the bow of the 24 FasDeck, these brake lights will be activated at the same time as the trailer brake lights, adding to trailering safety. This is a terrific feature and Regal is the only builder I know of who does this. The RX version includes the Flexiteek deck on the swim platform. Notice the red trailer brake lights just under the sun pad storage. The Ultra LoungeThis is a very cool feature that adds a lot of versatility to the 24 FasDeck. It can pretty much be thought of as a sun pad on steroids. Either lie flat, recline in chaise lounge position, sit facing forward, aft, blend in with the wraparound seating and pretty much simply adapt it to the heart's content. What I think is the most notable feature is that the sun lounge can now be used even while the boat is underway as it has that forward facing functionality. Naturally there's storage underneath. In the "normal" position, there is a sun pad and regular cockpit seating. The seat to the port side of the ultra lounge also conceals deep storage. This can hold wakeboards, fenders, and tow toys. Here is the ultra lounge set-up for forward facing reclining. In this position, one can lounge even when the 24 FasDeck is underway.CockpitThe wraparound arena seating is really what makes this cockpit so functional. It allows a large number of people to enjoy the boat while still maintaining an intimate conversational atmosphere. There's dedicated storage for a trash receptacle and a 25 quart (23.7 L) cooler. Our test boat was fitted with the optional refreshment center ($923) just abaft the helm, which is plumbed to the 11 gallon (42 L) water tank, along with the optional transom shower ($508). Regal accommodates three standard interior color packages, all featuring the soft touch vinyl, diamond stitched side panels, and french stitched seams. I would give serious consideration to the optional cockpit carpet ($423).Under the port side seat is storage for a carry-on cooler and a dedicated space for a trash receptacle. Notice the pedestal table base. The aft facing lounger is great for observing the end of the towline, or watching the wake shrinking in the distance, but I found facing the operator to be a bit awkward due to the width of the seat. The refreshment center is not only a convenient place to wash up for lunch, but with the sink covered it is a handy place for fixing sandwiches.Engine CompartmentThe aft seat lifts with the aid of two gas assist struts for effortless access to the engine compartment. I found the installation to be more than adequate for extended maintenance and certainly daily engine checks are a nonevent. I’m happy to see that an automatic fire suppression system was installed, as it is on nearly all Regal boats, as standard. All wiring harnesses use weather resistant Deutsch connectors.HelmRegal does a nice job with their hand–stitched dash. We've seen time and again where a company will wrap a sun shroud in vinyl and call it hand stitched, but in this instance it truly is a soft feeling dash shroud. The panel is aluminum which provides a nice contrast to the vinyl and fiberglass console. In my operations, the one gauge that gets the lion's share of my attention is always the depth gauge, and on the 24 FasDeck it's supplied as standard equipment.Notice the carbon fiber finish of the panel and the comfortable leather wrapped wheel. The Fusion stereo is purpose-built for the marine environment.Stereo.It's hard not to appreciate the Fusion Marine stereo. How often have we all seen an automotive-type Sony stereo plopped into a panel on a boat? While I always see the boats fresh from the factory, the longevity of these installations always comes into question. In this instance, the stereo is waterproof with an internal iPod docking station that keeps the handheld device dry as well as fully charged. The unit is also connected to six marine-grade speakers as part of the standard package. As if that weren't enough Regal also offers a high-performance stereo package on the non-RX version ($977) that includes an amplifier, subwoofer, transom remote, and two additional speakers. With both the regular and RX models, a Sirius satellite tuner is also available ($246).RegalVue and WatersportsThe coolest option on this helm is undoubtedly Regal's proprietary RegalVue display. It's a touch display screen that provides a wealth of information at a glance and it's highly customizable to suit one's own needs. When coupled with Volvo Penta installations, one can also have a programmable cruise control and any number of operational profiles can be dialed in and named according to the person at the end of the towline. It's a very cool system and we've seen variations of this on other brands, but Regal takes it one better by adding a diagnostic page that will allow the boater to diagnose fault codes and receive directions on fixes. While one won't be seeing labor-intense instruction such as "replace timing chain" one will see "inspect water strainer" as well as other more user-friendly guidelines. In my opinion, the display is not only very cool, but very intuitive and user-friendly and most will need no instruction on its use.High-tech Stuff. The RegalVue is offered as an option in three different versions. A Volvo version for $1,885, a Merc version for $2,500, and a Volvo-only cruise control version for $2,915. If the boater plans on using the 24 FasDeck as just a playing-around family fun dayboat, then I would categorize the RegalVue in the "nice to have" category. But if one is into watersports, and plan on doing a lot of towing then I would relegate it into the "must have" category. As an economic compromise, Regal also offers the Perfect Pass cruise control for $1,731.And certainly if one falls into that latter watersports category, they'll want to give serious consideration to the PowerTower ($4,900). It's a very cool, and very strong, wakeboard tower that retracts at the push of a button so that the 24 FasDeck will still fit into a garage or boathouse. The tower also has available options such as swivel board racks ($1,154), and tower speakers to replace the transom speakers ($1,377). Of course all of this is standard on the RX version. At the top of the PowerTower is a combination tow point and all-around navigation light.A Head of its TimeWhile this head may not be exciting enough to make someone want to drink a six-pack of soda before getting onboard, it is by far the nicest that I've seen in any boat in class. Regal really went all-out with cherry cabinets, a Corian counter, sink, and raised edges to the counter. There's a surprising amount of storage in the cabinetry, so beyond a couple of rolls of TP, I suppose a library of magazines could be added, if it's desired. A chemical head is standard and pump out fittings are offered for $177. The entire head compartment is lockable so go ahead and toss in tote bags full of incidentals while making the way to the dockside restaurant.Beautiful cherry veneer cabinetry and a convenient sink for washing up highlight the upscale head in this deckboat.BowAs we make our way to the bow, the walkthrough windshield is held open by a magnetic catch, which means that it can be opened and closed on the fly and with one hand. For all that Regal offers as standard features, I was surprised to see that lower walkthrough doors were not on the standard list, but they are offered as an option ($362) and I would highly recommend them to anyone who might find themselves operating on chilly mornings. While the windshield frames are certainly beefy in their own right, these are also supported by heavy duty stainless steel supports that easily held my weight.Regal made the windshield frame nice and thick because they know the boater is going to be hanging onto it, especially when getting in and out of the helm seat. Our test boat had the optional cockpit carpet ($423).The bow area is not only roomy but quite comfortable with flip-up armrests and generous padding under the seats. Bow filler cushions are optional ($346).The bow area itself is nothing short of massive, as one would expect in any deckboat. To the starboard side the generous storage begins under the helm console and continues all the way to the forward end of the starboard seat with no bulkheads interrupting the space. Thanks to this storage area, the boater not only can fill the sole storage with boards but this compartment as well. To the port side, the storage is only under the seat as the head occupies the console space. Both seat cushions are hinged from the back and open with the aid of gas struts. The layout of the 24 FasDeck RX.When sitting in the lounge position both the port and starboard seats have flip-up armrests, and while this is a wonderful feature for both comfort and security, I would rather see the flip-down armrests that are offered on some of the other Regal models as they can be deployed and retracted with one hand. The seat position fully forward has a backrest and I find this to be an equally comfortable position for an observer watching the end of the towline as it puts them in direct line of sight with the operator. The seat cushion removes to reveal a nonskid step that will then take one to the nonskid foredeck. A hatch on the foredeck covers the self draining anchor locker, and a bow reboarding ladder is standard.Pricing and OptionsThe Regal 24 FasDeck RX has a base price of $79,957 when equipped with the catalyzed 300-hp Volvo Penta V8-300 with Duoprop outdrive. There are six other engine options. Aside from some of the options mentioned previously, I would consider docking lights ($231). Since my boating usually has me anchored out into the wee hours of the night I would definitely opt for the underwater LED light bars ($654).ObservationsThe 24 FasDeck models are clearly boats built by boaters for boaters. Not only does everything onboard just fit ergonomically but she's equally comfortable to operate. Obviously Regal's designers took a look at everything on the market before designing this deckboat. Clearly, their aim was to do the competition one better in each critical area. It is for that reason that if one is in the market for a deckboat they should see the Regal 24 FasDeck.

Brief SummaryThe Cruisers Sport Series 298 Bow Rider is a big water sportboat not only because of her freeboard, but also because of her hull construction -- which uses the same lamination schedule as the parent Cruisers Yachts, according to the builder. She has all-new hull graphics and her interior upholstery package is as upscale as any in class. It doesn't hurt that the fabrics and vinyls are the same as used in the company's 54-footer. With the sleek hull profile and the aerodynamic sport arch, she looks fast even at the dock. The Cruisers Sport Series 298 Bow Rider has an overall length of 29’ (8.84 m) with the swim platform, a beam of 8’6” (2.59 m) and a draft up of 24.5” (62.23 cm). With 17 gallons (64.35 L) of fuel on board and 2 people aboard, we had an estimated test weight of 6,967 lbs. (3,160 kg).Distinguishing FeaturesFollowing is a list of features that set this boat apart from many others in class.• 4-step bow/stern ladder• 3-way stern seating, sun pad• Extended swim platform • Robust hull fiberglass lamination schedule • Style lines molded into the hull sides• Yacht-grade fabrics and vinyls used throughoutPerformanceThe Cruisers Sport Series 298 Bow Rider has an overall length of 29’ (8.84 m) with the swim platform, a beam of 8’6” (2.59 m) and a draft up of 24.5” (62.23 cm). With 17 gallons (64.35 L) of fuel and 2 people aboard, we had an estimated test weight of 6,967 lbs. (3,160 kg).Our test boat was powered by the MerCruiser 8.2L (502 cu. in.) Big Block V8, producing 380-hp powering the Bravo 3X outdrive. We took 3.6 seconds to reach planning speed and accelerated to 20 mph in 6.5 seconds, 30 mph in 9.8 seconds and 40 mph in 13.5 seconds. At WOT, the engine was turning 4800 rpm, producing 49 mph, providing us with a 28.0 gph, with a range of 104 statute miles.Best cruise speed for economical performance was at about 3000 rpm, providing us with 30.3 mph, burning 11.9 gph with a range of 156 statute miles, with a 10% fuel reserve.HandlingThe 298 Bow Rider was not designed to be as sporty handling as her little siblings, but rather to be a luxury performer with an exceptionally comfortable ride at speed in a chop. During our test she cut through wakes and waves with hardly a bump. And despite her considerable displacement, she was quick to respond to the helm. On acceleration, the bow comes up approximately 12-degrees, but there was no loss of forward visibility. Once on plane, just a minor trim adjustment and she settles into her proper cruising attitude and moves along quite gracefully. Her 21-degree deadrise at the transom provided us with a stable, comfortable ride and the 7 layers of mat, roving and chopped strand in her hull lamination contributes to the solid feel of this boat. Even with 380 horses in her engine room, at no time did we feel that the boat was out of control or that there was too much power for the boat. Because of her high freeboard and displacement, in addition to her 29', the CSS 298 Bow Rider is definitely appropriate for saltwater sportboat use. She leans 12-degrees into the turns and was fully under control at all times, even during hard over turns at high speed. Stem to Stern InspectionThe manufacturer offers a couple of design options and several optional colors for the boat. She can be built in the classic, standard white, or full hull gel coat color with stripe accent styling. Our test boat had a jet black hull with white accent styling. The white accent takes the place of a traditional cove stripe, and makes the boat look low and sleek despite a robust freeboard. When looking down the hull of this boat, note the style lines molded into the side of the boat and how they add depth and character to the overall look of the vessel. Cruisers Yachts has also added some other unique design features to the boat. For example, the air vents for the engine room are completely hidden by clever cowling on both the starboard and port side of the hull. It is mounted high to keep spray out of the engine room, something particularly important in saltwater. Check out the stylish raised fins at the deck in front of the windshield. Definitely a unique design element to add some flare to this area. The Cruisers Sport Series 298 Bow Rider has an inventive way to conceal the engine room air vents and make it look good in the process. The builder installed an aluminum sport arch on our test boat, with tow point and a Bimini top to add to the boats aggressive profile. The beefy tower is billet aluminum and the tower can be easily disconnected from its mounting bracket and folded down for trailering. At the bowthe horn is flush mounted at the top rail and the pop up cleats drop down flush with the top rail for a nice clean look. The forward bow compartment houses a 4-step stainless steel telescoping boarding ladder that deploys on the starboard side. Note the cut outs in the top rail to accommodate the beach boarding ladder as it deploys and to lock it into place. The deep seated chaise lounge on the 298 Bow Rider has a comfortable, form-fitting dip in the seating portion of the chaise lounge. This allows for a deep seating position and keeps the passenger safely tucked away. The interiorwas elegantly upholstered by Cruiser Yachts own craftsmen in the Latte color scheme and accented tones throughout the boat. The deep bow seating is contoured for the human body making it exceedingly comfortable and secure. A rounded foot well area measuring 27.5” (69.85 cm) provides plenty of room for people to sit, facing each other and not bang knees.Under the forward seat is an integral cooler which self-drains overboard. In this way the folks in the bow have easy access to cool beverages without having to move aft.We also observed the "hide-a-weld" finish detail under the seat cushions. This is a high-end finish covering the stainless steel staples used to hold the upholstery. Magnets are fastened to the bottom of the forward cushion to keep it from sliding off or flying away while underway. The hole by the magnet is to drain the cushion. The walkthroughopening between the windshields is a comfortable 20.5” (52.07 cm) wide. The head is located on the starboard side in the console in front of the companion seat. The latching head door extends to the overhead to make it easier to enter and exit. There is full sitting headroom in the optional Porta-Potti.The head is equipped with a solid surface countertop, sink and faucet wand that extends out for rinsing off. There is also an operational portlight for ventilation, a shelf for storing some towels and a courtesy light. Deck Storage. There are two under deck storage boxes in the cockpit. The mid deck box is shallow but long and wide. The forward compartment is more narrow, 17" deep. The forward compartment between the consoles is much deeper and held in the open position with a gas assist strut. At the HelmThe helm has an elegant uncluttered layout and is built with a stitched vinyl, non-glare brow and the white faced analog gauges at the dash panel give it a traditional look. At the lower left side of the dash, a premium sound system is easy at hand for the captain. On both sides of the padded Italian leather tilt wheel from Gussi are small storage compartments -- just large enough for keys or a cell phone. Below is the usual array of toggle switches and an optional 4” LCD navigation system is conveniently centered on the dash. The captain’s seat is an all new design with multi tone upholstery, side supports at the seat back with a soft cushion head rest. There is a bolster and the seat slides fore and aft and raises and lowers so all operators should be able to have optimum visibility. The bolster is in an accent color and raises up for leaning or sitting when the captain wants to see over the windshield header. We found the bolster a little uncomfortable to sit on but it did provide adequate support when standing and leaning against it. The inboard and outboard arm rests can be raised or lowered. Behind the helm seaton the starboard side is a wet bar. The hard surface countertop has a built in sink with stainless steel faucet, a stainless steel designer rail to keep things from sliding off, and a dual stainless steel beverage holder will come in handy. Whether it’s a wine bottle, mixers for happy hour or a couple of soda cans, the holder is a useful addition to the bar setup. Adjacent to the wet bar, on the starboard side is another bench seat, which has a latching lid with an insulated, self-draining cooler built in. The convertible sun padis located at the stern as we continue along the wrap around seating, here is a molded-in step, with the optional Sea Grass Mat carpeting that leads up to the stern gate, which doubles as a jump seat at the stern. Under the sun padarea is the engine hatch access. The whole seating assembly rises up on dual gas assist struts to keep it secure while performing the routine engine checks. At the base of the aft bench seat is a stainless steel mounting bracket for the pedestal table that can be installed here, at the aft seating area or at the bow seating area. At the port side, under the port quarter stern seating area is the access to the batteries and battery control switches. Forward, under the seat is a 48-quart portable cooler for the folks who like to load it up at home and bring it to the boat already filled. There is a well-designed compartment molded in under the seat that is both attractive and functional. This is one of the few sportboats on the market with three coolers aboard, two integral and one portable. Just remove the cushion, lift the latching stern gate, which is also the back rest for the jump seat, and walk out onto the swim platform. The aft seat easily converts from a bench seat that can accommodate 2 to 3 passengers in the cockpit seating area and one or two additional passengers at the swim platform area when the boat is not underway. The seating area then coverts to a chaise lounge with just the flip of a latch on each side……and then to a huge sun pad. The designers of the boat have made it much easier to get into the engine compartment to perform fluid checks with the addition of this molded-in step. It really makes a difference. The table is made of a high-density vacuum formed hard polyurethane with simulated wood grain that looks real. This table has a solid feel to it and the manufacturer tells us that it is waterproof, UV resistant and extremely durable. Look at the size of this cooler stowed under the port side bench seat. It’s a full sized 48 quart cooler that is kept in place by a raised edge. The swim platform areaincludes the aft facing seat and an added extended platform with its functional tapered design. These days more and more time is spent by boaters on the swim platform, and for that reason the designers have made this a special place by making it so large. Not only can two boarders get ready at once, but it also makes an ideal place to tie down inflatable water toys when going to and from the two areas. The platform is rakedin on each side so that when the boat pulls away from the dock bow first, the platform will not scrape along the dock. It is also raised about 13" off the water, higher than what we find on most boats. The reason for that is that when at anchor, people naturally enjoy sitting on the platform with their feet in the water. Because the platform is high, they don't have to worry about a wake or wake getting them wet. The integrated design of the sun pad, the color scheme and the SeaDek faux teak material at the extended swim platform give this 29 footer a much bigger feel and look. The faux teak material on the stern platform provides the classic look of a teak swim platform without the maintenance of real teak. The material is made from soft yet durable closed cell material with finish details that make it look like the real thing, yet it is soft to the touch. On the port side of the swim platform we found a remote stereo control and a trim tilt switch for the lower unit, in addition to water and fuel fill ports. Also on the starboard side of the swim platform is the access hatch to the 4 step telescoping stainless steel ladder. The platform also extends well beyond the lower unit for added safety and is at the same elevation as the molded stern so to eliminate a tripping hazard.EngineMerCruiser 8.2L, 502 cubic inch, MAG, 380-hp with the Bravo 3X sterndrive.Options to Consider• Cushion bow filler• Head, electric with holding tank• Porta-Potti with dock pump out• Full canvasPriceBase Boat (with Specified Engine)$106,825Manufacturer’s Options on test boat $26,237Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail$133,062ObservationsThe 298 Bow Rider is the second largest boat in the Cruisers Sport Series line up. Overall, the 298 Bow Rider proved that she can be used for all sorts of watersport activities, with plenty of amenities. But because of her size, we think she should be considered seriously by boaters wanting to engage in entertaining afloat. She has the seating capacity of many pontoon boats, but is a lot more fun to drive. Plus, given the expense of first-class pontoon boats, the vessel is not much more and is even more versatile. Most important, she was designed for big water -- either freshwater or saltwater. Her thick lamination, her considerable displacement, and her freeboard, all go to make this boat one of the most comfortable and capable in most any condition.Test Result HighlightsTop speed for the Cruisers Sport Series 298 Bow Rider (2015-) is 49.0 mph (78.9 kph), burning 28.90 gallons per hour (gph) or 109.39 liters per hour (lph).Best cruise for the Cruisers Sport Series 298 Bow Rider (2015-) is 30.3 mph (48.8 kph), and the boat gets 2.54 miles per gallon (mpg) or 1.08 kilometers per liter (kpl), giving the boat a cruising range of 156 miles (251.06 kilometers).Tested power is 1 x 380-hp MerCruiser 8.2L MAG MPI.Standard and Optional FeaturesMarine ElectronicsGPS/ChartOptional SystemsCD StereoStandard Head: PortableOptional Power SteeringStandard Trim TabsOptional Exterior FeaturesCarpet: CockpitOptional Swim LadderStandard Swim PlatformStandard Tower: WatersportsOptional Transom ShowerStandard Wet barOptional CanvasBimini TopStandard Camper BackOptional Cockpit CoverStandard Full CanvasOptional WarrantyHull WarrantyTransferable Limited 10-years structural Deck WarrantyLimited 10-years structural Blistering Warranty5-years
