NO WATER TRIAL. Being sold AS IS WHERE IS. PLEASE ALSO NOTE No batteries aboard. The seller makes no claims as to what works and what doesn't. According to the seller, the engine room had some rainwater intrusion and the engine may have suffered damage as now she will turn over but not run. She is in definite need of a mechanical evaluation to see if this can be repaired, rebuilt, or replaced. It's a Perkins diesel, so likely she is repairable. This engine came with the boat when the sellers purchased her and had been reliable all those years. There are no batteries aboard but would normally take 4 marine batteries. She needs some TLC to bring her back to her glory. Please know this is somewhat of a project boat, no water trials or engine survey (engine won't start), this is being sold as is where is. The place where you see the white tape is where there is some rotten wood that needs addressing. I visited this boat and walked the entire boat, there are no soft spots on the deck. I found it easy to see her beauty even though she needs some work, this was once a gorgeous boat and can be again. When the sellers rehabbed the boat, one of the things they did was to replace the old deck with marine plywood and epoxy the deck. It's very solid but could use a paint job. I noted some wood rot in a few places and photographed all I could see. The boxes under the chairs have some wood rot inside and need addressing. Stock #269396 Rare Downeast Yacht with well deserved reputation in need of TLC. We are offering this rare 1973 32' Downeast yacht with a well-deserved reputation and enthusiastic following. The cockpit engine box doubles as a working surface. And it is VERY heavy. The raised double helm seats give good visibility from behind a distinctive wood-framed windscreen. She was designed and built to the work the water off of Martha's Vineyard. Wasque (Way-squee) was named after the southeastern tip of Chappaquiddick known as Wasque Point. The interior features a useable galley with a Force 10 propane 2 burner stove, Dometic RM 2354 refrigerator, Tappan TM4040S microwave oven, ISO Temp SQ 16V Hot water heater, and a Xantrex Tru 20 battery charger, an enclosed Jabsco Marine head with Electra san and Y-valve, and forward V-berth to sleep two comfortably. Inside the cabin on the floor is Pennsylvania Cherry and Holly. The cabinets are teak as is much of the trim throughout the boat. This is the perfect boat for a couple who is looking for a classic displacement pocket cruiser. Electronics include a Danforth Constellation compass and Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF. There is a Furuno radar on the hardtop, but no controls for it unknown if it works. This boat was purchased in 2004 by the current owners who performed a total rehab on her including a new hardtop and she was beautiful. They spent $125,000 on her back then. They do admit she has been neglected a bit, but with a little love and elbow grease, she can easily be brought back to her glory again! There are 2 fuel tanks totaling 55 gallons and are both aluminum. This vessel is Coast Guard documented. The antique horn is not included with the sale of the boat. NO WATER TRIAL. My vessel "Teak For Two" is a semi-production 26 foot diesel power driven vessel built by Bayfield of Canada in 1989. Her beam is 8'6" and her draft is 3'. She was designed primarily for use on inland and near-coastal waters. The interior of the vessel consists of a small main cabin with a v-berth, partial galley, and head. Her cabin sole is constructed of teak plywood and the majority of the interior finishes arefabric liners and teak. There are cushions on all bunks, which are in very good condition. She has overnight accommodations for 2 people and ample storage room. She is constructed with one marine head and a USCG approved MSD type 3 sanitary system. The boat has a galley with a sink, and non-electrical insulated ice box refrigerator. Her water supply is fed from a 15 gallon water tank, which is manually pumped in the galley by a hand operated pump. She is as a whole constructed using quality workmanship and marine grade materials throughout. The main construction material in her hull, deck, and superstructure is fiberglass. The deck and superstructure of the vessel are constructed utilizing core material, which was assembled in typical sandwich construction for composite materials. This was done to minimize the weight of the vessel while maintaining her strength. She is powered by a single 155HP Volvo diesel engine that is easy to maintain and starts right up. The engine has 262 hours on the newer gauge, but is reported to have a total of approximately 950 hours. She is equipped vhf radio and depth finder. A new raised cockpit bimini top for standup height piloting with full enclosure and a cockpit mooring cover. She has a teak swim platform and cockpit cushions. She is joy to own and operate. I can and would be happy to email a copy of her most recent and extensive marine survey done in April of 2014 that concluded her current market value is approximately $60,000 and her replacement value (new) is $210,000. Thanks for looking!!!!! She is currently berthed in Bay Head, NJ
