***UPDATE MAY 27TH, 2019*** ~ The Decks and Cabin Roof have been repainted with Non-Skid Paint. ~ Much restoration has gone into this beautiful vessel, and she is waiting for her new owner to steward her forward and enjoy her fine sailing characteristics. Stock #042148 Classic San Diego Built Kettenburg known as "Aristocrats of sail" The K-38 is 38' overall but 25'10" at the waterline, 8' beam, 6'2" draft. Sail area 538 square feet. The exquisite beauty of the K38's lines, its ideal size, its incredible feel of balance and speed, its sleek, narrow hull, its meticulous craftsmanship in wood and its silent, easy motion in a seaway combine to make it superior to all other yachts for sailing in Southern California's waters. Designed by Paul Kettenburg, and built at the renowned Kettenburg Boat Works on Shelter Island, Chelsea is the 27th boat of this design built in 1954 of Carvel planked Mahogany. K-38's are still recognized as the "Aristocrats of sail" on the Pacific Coast. Her spruce mast was completely rebuilt in 2000, and is currently in the seller's warehouse. It will be reinstalled on the boat at the time of a sale. The mast currently on the boat belongs to a different K-38. When the mast was rebuilt, it was Totally disassembled, re-glued, re-rabbitted, re-finished with varnish (Not paint) and re-wired at a cost of $10k. A completely new transom was professionally installed along with the aft 3rd of the boat being replanked at the same time. In 2004 the entire boat was gone through, and every rib was examined and sistered where needed. At that time, a custom brace that consists of a custom built rib which goes from the port shear clamp to the starboard shear clamp was installed to give added support to the mast step and floors in the area a around the mast. The turnbuckle transfers stress from the chain plate to a stainless steel "floor" which is bolted to a new oak floor in the bilge. The boat was completely refastened and caulked before paint was applied.

This 1970 Bertram 38 Double Cabin has typical wear for a vessel of this age but has had some work done to start her on the way toward renovation. The first thing you'll notice when approaching the boat is how nicely the hull has been painted. She's a beauty. The bottom has also recently been fully painted, with a good amount of work occurring below the waterline. One new prop shaft was installed, while both shafts were pulled, repacked, and the motors were aligned. The props were sent out and trued, and the rudders were dropped and repacked. The Trim tab rams were rebuilt, with new reservoirs added. The bonding system was reworked with a new terminal block added, and the Sonar Transducer was installed for the new Garmin radar-GPS-plotter-fishfinder. Inside the boat, all electrical was reworked by a marine electrician, 3 new bilge pumps were installed and the Air conditioning was reworked, so it's ready to go. The Port engine injectors were rebuilt, and the raw water pumps were rebuilt as well. Both Starters were also rebuilt and the alternators were tested. 2005 Rampage 38' Express "Fish Wife" is a rare bright red one-owner Rampage 38' with low hours (370 original!) on her CAT 510hp C-9 engines.  Contrary to some of the reported information, this boat (and all others of her vintage) actually has a solid fiberglass bottom and cored hullsides well above the waterline. Rampage did not offer the red hull as an option, so the owner ordered the boat white and had it painted with Awlgrip at the famous Atlantic Yacht Basin yard in Great Bridge, VA prior to his taking final delivery.  Unlike gelcoat, Awlgrip holds its shine for a very long time.  She comes equipped with all of the popular factory options including the helm ac/heat package, marlin tower, Lee outriggers, full enclosure (all new in  2012), Todd Ayers electronics package (side scanning sonar just added), helm deck icemaker, flat screen TV, Zodiac 6-Man liferaft, etc.    Props recently tuned, and running gear coated with "prop-speed".  All service has been performed by the same yard in Deltaville, VA since new- and all service records are available.  Maintained with an "open check-book" policy, this Rampage truly stands out and must be seen!  Listing broker is a former Rampage dealer and knows these boats very well.  Please call with any questions or to arrange for a showing.

2017 Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 In the tradition of the latest 41.1, the Oceanis 38.1 cleverly combines practical features, performance and elegance on boat sizes where function generally outweighs personalisation:  the Oceanis range continues to stand by its desire to offer a wide choice to demanding customers. The new Oceanis 38.1 offers a performance to habitability ratio second to none on this size of cruising yacht. Length and beam on the waterline have been extended to the limit to make her quick to cut through the water, while increasing stability. EXTERIOR DESIGN The Oceanis 38.1s chined hull offers particularly surprising cruising comfort. Good and taut to aft and low on the water, the rigidity under sail of this cruiser takes her further and faster, with exceptional stability. It is a real joy to have two helm stations, a mainsail arch and a huge swim platform on a sailing yacht this size. INTERIOR DESIGN For the Italian design team, the challenge was to multiply the living spaces in the saloon and offer greater privacy in the owner cabin, while maintaining the visual perspective that her opening to the bow offered in previous versions.  The new L-shaped galley makes a facing seat saloon arrangement possible. The space has been well optimised to allow eight people to sit around the table.   LIVING SPACES A PRIORITY Designed to suit a variety of sailing programmes and increasingly different lifestyles on board, the Oceanis 38.1 is available respectively in 6 versions with varied layouts: number of cabins and bathrooms, modularity of the saloon, choice of galley, storage capacity, etc. SEPERATE OWNER CABIN Now accessed by a double door, the owner cabin offers wonderful privacy.  This new separate space still has a pleasant forward view of the boat when the doors are open. TAILOR-MADE INTERIOR ATMOSPHERES Light Oak or Mahogany Alpi: the Oceanis 38.1 offer a choice between a contemporary light oak or more classic Mahogany Alpi atmosphere. Once the cabinet work has been decided upon, a wide choice of linings and upholstery colours and materials adds the finishing personal touches.

What makes the 38 CC run so well? It's not just the twin steps. This boat also has a setback and notch built into the transom, as well as a V-pad on the hull bottom, which is where the entire boat rides at high speeds. The net result? An 8 to 15 percent increase in overall speed, midrange performance, and fuel economy over plain-Jane V-bottoms. The steps introduce a cushion of aerated water under the boat, which breaks adhesion and allows the hull to run faster. It also seems to soften re-entries and impacts when the seas kick up. If you want to run above highway speeds, the boat has to be built to take it-and construction is another area in which Fountain takes a sophisticated approach. The hull is solid fiberglass from the waterline down, with the keel, strakes, and hullsides cored to boost stiffness and rigidity. The stringer grid is molded, glassed into place, and pumped full of foam. And the hull-to-deck joint is tightly secured: It's riveted to keep it in place when the through-bolts are run through, Plexus adhesive/sealant is applied in the joint, and where the two parts meet they're fiberglassed together. Popping across a chop at 65 mph and taking large boat wakes in the 50-mph range, the boat feels as solid as most competitive boats do at 30 mph.
