2007 Yellowfin 23 Offshore Edition Engine Updates for Mercury Verado 275: - Six (6) New Coils (Summer 2016) - Six (6) New Spark Plugs (Summer 2016) - Full Verado Service (Summer 2016) - New Steering Cylinder (Summer 2016) Details / Information on 23YF: The 23 Yellowfin Offshore Edition was originally designed and built for the Southern Kingfish Association Tournament Series, however this particular boat was custom built to allow for the perfect balance of "Family Friendly" and "Fishing Fanatic" by a family friend of company owner, Wylie Nagler. It features the iconic Yellowfin Stepped-Hull, which measures 25' LOA, with an 8' 8" beam, and 1' 6" draft, as well as 22 degree deadrise. Additionally, it features an impressive 160 gallon fuel tank allowing for plenty of trips back and forth to the Florida Keys or the Bahamas, with a single Mercury 275 Verado Outboard. For the Family, this boat features excellent wrap-around bow seating as well as a seat directly in front of the console, as well as a dive latter, and a reliable Mercury 275 Verado Engine with approximately 820 hours. For the Fishing Fanatic, there are plenty of rod holders, a Raymarine E80 Radar + GPS, wide gunnels for site fishing, as well as Courtesy Lights for night-fishing. Below is an excerpt from an article written by Dave Lear from Salt Water Sportsman on the 23 YF: "Designed for the 23-foot-and-under king mackerel tournament circuit, the Yellowfin 23 is a hardcore hot rod worthy of checkered flags, regardless of the trophy. I joined company president Wylie Nagler for a ride across a very frothy Sarasota Bay on the west coast of Florida. An unseasonable cold front had whipped the water into a confused three- to four-foot chop, but Nagler and I stayed bone-dry in all headings, and the entire ride was featherbed soft. In short, the boat passed its real-world test with flying colors."Some manufacturers try to build fishing boats from go-fast hulls, but our philosophy has always been to design fishing boats that go fast," Nagler said. "Our padded stepped-hull design delivers unequaled speed and rough-water performance, plus it's very fuel-efficient with either single or twin engines." The test results certainly supported that claim" While I love this boat dearly, I am moving up to a new 29 Yellowfin and must say goodbye to my "unicorn".
