This 1964 Hallett Barron is a built-to-order classic that was 1 of only 100 produced and is believed to be 1 of only 4 still in existence. According to the folks at Hallett Boats, the vessel stayed with its original owner until his passing, and was eventually reacquired from that owner's children. As mentioned, Hallett then flipped the boat to its second owner, a California man. Some years later, when that California man decided to list the craft on eBay, the current owner spotted the listing but decided against a purchase. Then, about six months after the listing had expired, a deal was struck and the boat took up residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. HULL Officially classified as an 18-foot Hallett Drag Boat that's built around a Barron flat-bottom hull, this awesome craft is an immaculate, highly original cruiser that's been lightly freshened as needed. Since 2006, the boat has been regularly stored in a private, climate-controlled garage and, judging by its stellar appearance, probably hasn't seen severe weather since its 1964 debut. An original, never restored hull is crafted from rare Hawaiian Monkey-Pod wood that's completely cold-molded in a sturdy fiberglass shell. That 'glass is dressed in snazzy Pearl White and Metal Flake Red aesthetics. And overall, the boat is so clean that it could've freshly breached a 51-year-old time capsule. Inside, simplicity is the name of the game. An original Mahogany dash anchors an original Jones Motrola tachometer and original Stewart Warner accessory gauges in the sheen of original varnish. Flawless tuck-and-roll upholstery perfectly matches the boat's stylish paint. This Classic 1965 Hatteras 50 Motoryacht is a quality-built Motoryacht from one of America's premier builders. This exceptional Hatteras offers a lavish interior with an expansive salon and boasts a large galley with dinette and home-sized appliances. She offers three spacious staterooms one forward and two aft. The master aft stateroom is extremely spacious and comfortable, with an island queen bed, complete head with a newer shower. The forward stateroom is spacious with abundant storage, entertainment center, and ensuite head. Without doubt, the Hatteras 50/53 Motor Yacht is the most successful medium sized motor yacht ever built, with over 600 of them between their various incarnations. They were in production from 1965 to 1989, a full twenty-four years. This yachts enduring popularity comes from a combination of excellent quality, good design, and a great use of space. Power is sufficient for pleasure cruising with a pair of 8V71 Naturals. Whether as a summer home or a vacation getaway, this boat has been meticulously maintained and run every season. This boat runs as well as it looks. The hulls and superstructure are built like a tank with the bottoms about an inch thick with balsa cored sides and decks. These are first rate production motor yachts. Service requirements are relatively minor if the previous owner has kept up with maintenance. Virtually any yard can work on these boats and is familiar with them. That's the advantage of long-term production. With her 15'10" beam this is a big 50 footer and the layout takes maximum advantage of that space. Most people love the galley down layout with the dinette opposite which is great for informal meals. The galley is big enough, and well enough equipped with a full sized range top, while still having adequate counter space as well as plenty of storage space. The owner's stateroom is more than adequate and the guest staterooms are ample as well. Heads and shower size is more than adequate. The Hatteras 50 Motor Yacht is large enough to provide extremely comfortable liveaboard features, yet can still be owner operated. This standard accommodation arrangement provides three large staterooms, an aft master, mid guest and a forward staff or guest, all with ensuite heads.. This vessel is truly pristine in looks, exceptionally equipped and is meticulously professionally maintained. Accomodations SALON, MAIN DECK Salon access is via port or starboard side sliding doors. The large Salon is the nucleus of this popular vessel. The distinct Lower Helm is situated in the forward quarter and has been redesigned to incorporate well with the living area for time spent underway or at dock. The salon is ample sized and features a comfortable convertible sofa and flat screen TV. All windows feature blinds. The headliner and carpet were replaced in the summer of 2005. The salon has 1 newer AC/heater unit ensuring a comfortable environment no matter the time of year. The lower helm includes engine synchronizers, newer Standard Horizon Navigation and Radar with east coast maps. VHF radio in the panel port of the helm. In the overhead panel is the remote control for the 1 mile searchlight, controls for the 3 electric windshield wipers and Buell air horn with air supplied from a dedicated compressor on the port engine. AFT DECK The canvas enclosed aft deck (new 2007) is accessed through dual French teak doors with fresh varnish in 2014. The side rails were also refinished in 2014 with fresh varnish. The aft deck also has a Cruisair Heater/ Air Conditioner to allow for extended season and cool environment on hot summer days. Modern casual entertaining space includes all weather wicker sectional with tan cushions, a colorful rug and coffee tables. Folding chairs and teak casual table provide a comfortable area to socialize during nice weather. The swim platform has a swing down teak ladder. Access to the rudder hydraulics and associated hardware is located below decks. FORWARD STATEROOM The Forward Guest Stateroom has upper and lower berths to starboard and a fully renovated ensuite head with shower. A very large access hatch provides significant ventilation and light for this compartment. This room has its own air conditioner/heater system. AFT STATEROOM Walk around queen bed is located in this room including an ensuite head with new molded shower. Significant storage drawers with bedside tables and a large double door hanging closet. A dressing table with ample lighting is in the forward port corner. GUEST STATEROOM Two twin beds combine with a pull out trundle to convert to queen sleeping accommodations. All in State vehicles are subject to a $112 Documentary fee and out of State vehicles are subject to a $133 Documentary fee. This fee covers the paperwork involved in transferring a vehicle into your name. It applies to dealers, wholesalers, international transactions, priests, you get the gist. We also offer a 30 day transit tag for buyers from outside of PA. This tag is available at a cost to you of $55 and we will need a valid insurance card and driver's license to issue this tag. The last optional service is a Vehicle Prep Package. We offer a Deluxe Detail for $185 which includes the vehicle to be detailed professionally and a full tank of premium fuel when you pick it up (vehicles over 25 gallons may not apply). This may sound odd to you, but we often ship cars, in which case they are sent with very little fuel at the request of the shipping company. Terms:We require a $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auctions close. This will hold the car for you and you exclusively for up to 7 days while you gather your funds or finalize your financing. We will refuse any other offers on the vehicle and will begin preparing the vehicle and documents for your delivery. Any financing arrangements are strictly between you and the lender and do not impact your contract to purchase the vehicle. The deposit is not refundable if you change your mind or if you cannot obtain financing on the vehicle. Should you need us to hold the car beyond the week, we ask for a deposit of $500 for every $10,000 of vehicle value. This will protect you as well as us. This deposit is the only liquidated damages you would be expected to forfeit should you fail to follow through with our contract to purchase the vehicle.
