Instead of living vicariously through the exploits of others - at hand is the opportunity to become part of living history in the form of one of the most sturdily built and handsome sailing vessels around. For the last 8 years the current owner has committed blood, sweat, and money into her ongoing restoration realizing that he is a temporary custodian of history. She was built by the world famous shipbuilding firm Philip & Son who have designed many of the most important and varied vessels in the UK for nearly 2 centuries. The inspiration for many of the design elements aboard Senorita came from no less an authority than Claud Worth - one of the fathers of modern yacht cruising and possibly the greatest yachtsmen of his day who commissioned the same yard for Tern IV the famous and essential twin to Senorita. Senorita is listed on the UK Official Register of Historic Vessels. There is no mistaking the calibre of build which will become immediately obvious to the discriminating eye. She is in excellent mechanical and structural order and ready to move to her next homeport to continue her continuing refit. The owner may have access to a mizzen mast. It is not stepped presently. There is a sink conveniently near the master berth that just needs plumbing. A heat pump and bulkhead mounted vented oil heater offer a climate controlled and inviting space for time aboard regardless of season. Abundant raised panel cabinets and assorted storage spaces make it comfortable as a liveaboard. Light and ventilation is provided by a large butterfly hatch above. Moving forward through the solid wood doorway - you enter the companionway landing area. To starboard is the commodius head compartment which has a large porcelain sink with classic fixtures, msd, and very large and comfortable stall shower. As throughout the boat - there is nice storage in the form of a medicine cabinet as well as locker and shelf space. Once again - this layout mates well with extended time aboard. Immediately on crossing the threshold forward into the main salon you step through the Stargate back into the early 20th century with era appropriate furnishings too numerous to catalogue collectively enhancing the stout and salty vessel itself. There is a comfortable settee to port ringed above with impressive bookshelf and storage space. To starboard is an large sofa with dining table in the center close to the rustic heft of the massive mainmast timber. Once again the space is bathed in warming natural light through the impressively designed butterfly hatch. Fully functional as well as aesthetically inviting is a Morso coal/wood freestanding iron stove. Forward again is the galley and forward storage locker described more fully below.Galley The galley is forward and offers nearly all the comforts of home. The warm wood sole offers an inviting space for meal preparation. It includes a large sink with substantial hot and cold pressure water fixtures in addition to a traditional bronze manual pump recessed into a butcher block countertop with ample space. Cabinetry and thus storage is abundant and very traditional and comfortable in a country kitchen style on the starboard side and to port there are impressive leaded glass built in cabinets as well. There is a large four burner propane stove with oven/broiler on the transverse bulkhead and for quick meals there is a microwave oven. The boat was very presentable. The exterior was clean, the gel looked to be in very good condition. No excessive scrapes, gouges or chips were noticed. The full enclosure looks great, the plastic is very clear. The cockpit was clean, the cushions looked great. The engine hatch deck felt soft, and the hatch does not open on its own (perhaps a bad lift actuator). The helm looked great as it stays covered. The gauges were clear, switches were readable, controls looked nice, wood bezels were nice and the steering wheel looked great. The cabin smelled musty and had some mildew. A good cleaning will be required to smell fresh. The cushions looked nice with no signs of damage. The cabinets looked nice with no signs of damage. The mid-berth headliner panel needs to be secured and there is no headliner panel in the upper headroom area. The wood steps, floor panel and table looked nice with minimal signs of wear. The forward cabin was clean, with no signs of excessive wear and tear. Mildew and musty smells were present. The bow cushions were on the bed and they looked very nice. The engine hatch has to be lifted with assistance. The engines look to be in functional condition. There is some expected light corrosion, which is normal for the year. The bilge was clean with no oily fluids on top. No fluid leaks were seen from the engines. The wiring and systems looked to be in good condition with no excessive corrosion. The generator had some corrosion and missing paint. The generator is not working (the seller was told it needs a relay board). The seller discloses the bow thruster is not in working order. Some other great options are radar, spotlight, windlass and a bow thruster for easy maneuvering.There are plenty of gauges and all the switches are withing easy reach. There are two booster cushions for the captain to easily see over the windshield. The foredeck has three hatches for airflow. There are two large sun pad cushions for the bow to relax on or enjoy the view. The cabin is comfortable and nicely styled. There are classy wooden steps with matching floor panels and a matching wooden table. The blue cushions are appealing and provide plenty of seating or sleeping space in the spacious mid berth. The galley is equipped with a refrigerator / freezer, sink, stovetop and hidden microwave. The head is ample sized and has a shower. The forward cabin has a raised bed with access on either side. There is plenty of storage in the built-in cabinets and closets. There is a TV for entertainment. With these great features this is a great value for the price.
