The original Yanmar 3JH2E engine has 1080 hours on her. The wind, nav, depth, and autopilot are B&G instruments. Radar is Furuno. Has a Maxwell windless. Has a Heart Interface Freedom 25 converter/30A-battery charger. Put in 5 new batteries in 2016. Solar Panel to trickle charge battery bank #1. Has a Nauti Kold cold box that works great and is very efficient. Has a Cruisair air conditioning system that has been keeping things nice and cool (new in 2009). Flat screen TV, DVD player, and AM/FM CD player. There are 24 aluminum folding steps that have been mounted all the way up to the mast head to make single handed maintenance a lot easier. Two extremely special Island Packet name and logo stainless steel fancy step plates were installed to make going aboard on the port or starboard side, that much more special. Purchased in 2003, upgraded and always kept everything in excellent condition until 3 years ago when I stopped sailing. Since then, I periodically run the engine at the dock, keep up on bottom cleaning, and keep a/c running 24/7. The engine runs great. The transmission is stuck in forward (not the cable). The trans never had a problem before this period of me not using my boat. The bow-thruster needs replacing (a great feature to have). Original sails are in good shape but sheet lines could use replacing. The Bimini Top is removed due to a rip and the zipper becoming unstitched. Dodger's plastic windows are foggy. Inside teak is beautiful but the outside teak needs the remaining varnish removed and reapplied. The complete interior looks brand new and has no foul smells. The bottom needs repainting. I got an estimate of $3811 to replace the bow thruster. Bottom paint job and a boat haul have cost about $1000 in the past. I guesstimate to remove, repair, and install the transmission could cost about $2500. I choose to Document (thru the US Coast Guard) this IP-350 in 2003 versus titling it in the state because of these advantages:1- Provides clear history of ownership and priority when obtaining a loan.2- Affords international rights, privileges, and protections when in international waters, 3- Easier and less expense of ownership and cost to transfer of ownership, and of course no need to deal with DMV.4- Required for certain usages, Additionally includes: Unused 8.5' dingy purchased in 2014 and has Mercury outboard that can store on a IP-350's stern rail mount. Both have been stored indoors. All manuals and documents for every component, kept well filed in an Island Packet documents bag. All receipts and files from time of purchase in 2003. Two large plastic bins that contain lots and lots of spare maintenance parts. New condition and unused spare dodger (but in yellow). Sail bags, 10 one inch thick dock lines, life jackets, dock poles, grill that mounts at stern, safety equipment and much more. Additionally includes: 8.5' dingy purchased in 2014 and has Mercury outboard that can store on a IP-350's stern rail mount. Both have been stored indoors. Outboard serviced and clean carburetor in 2015. All manuals and documents for every component, kept well filed in an Island Packet documents bag. All receipts and files from time of purchase in 2003. Two large plastic bins that contain lots and lots of new spare maintenance parts. New condition and unused spare dodger (but in yellow). Sail bags, 10 one inch thick dock lines, life jackets, dock poles, grill that mounts at stern, safety equipment and much more. 1993 Hunter Passage 42 - PROTEUS Set up for serious off-shore passage making and fully self-sufficient off-the-grid cruising. Has recently (beginning 2014) sailed in England, the coast of Europe and the western Med (2015) and crossed the Atlantic to the Caribbean (Nov 2015). Came up through the Caribbean (spring 2016). This yacht was never chartered, always privately owned, and meticulously cared for. All servicing and installations were done to a high standard. All safety equipment is up-to-date. The yacht participated in the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) which requires a high standard of safety equipment, training, and inspections. The yacht has been certified as a Class-A offshore sailing yacht. All documentation is available and will be conveyed to future owner. The previous owners lived aboard, loved every minute of it, but are now moving back on land for a few years and do not want the boat to sit and atrophy. She needs to go to a good home and to someone who will continue the journey! She has taken care of her owners for years and will continue to do so for many years to come. S/V PROTEUS is "overbuilt" and designed for extended offshore passage-making and off-the-grid cruising. Just want to jump all the way down to the USVI instead of going the super-slow way all the way through the Bahamas? Okay. The previous owners just made a passage from the Dominican Republic straight to Ft.Lauderdale (March 2016). Seven days offshore? No problem. PROTEUS has a thicker hull, reinforced rigging, extra backstay (B&R rigs normally don't have them). Massive solar panels, watermaker, genset, wind generator – all these advanced features make for a yacht that can go anywhere, do anything, and actually be comfortable while doing it. The solar panels were upgraded in 2015, and the owners report that they lived entirely off the solar panels and almost never used the generator while underway. Occasionally, you'll hear people scoff at production yachts for being only for "coastal" cruising. "Oh, I'd never cross an ocean in that!" Not the Passage 42! Did I mention she's cruised in the North Sea and English Channel recently? When there were only aluminum-hull Ovni's and other "extreme" sailboats and expedition yachts at the docks, PROTEUS was right in there with the best of them. All image were made in June 2016 except the two exterior shots, which were made in Spain and Gibraltar in June 2015. More photographs are available on request. Here is an interior walkthrough. Final Thoughts from the Owner:We truly love this boat. Because of our time on PROTEUS, we will never be the same. Everywhere we go and everything we do for the rest of our lives will be colored by our experiences sailing this yacht. And it's not like we're ridiculously rich – we did everything on a modest budget, mostly on savings – but we did it, and you can, too. If you were looking for a chance to cut the lines and live like you always dreamed, PROTEUS could be that chance. It was for us. England, Ireland, Gibraltar, Morocco, half the islands in the Caribbean... it was all in reach, just outside the window. We look back on it now and think: "What on earth did we just do!?!" But we did. PROTEUS took us there. She'll take you there. 2004, 42' STEALTH 420 SC HYSUCAT POWER CATAMARAN Twin 2011 YANMAR 480HP 24 Valve Turbo Diesels A 50 MPH Power Catamaran in Fantastic Condition! Just Listed at $249,000 VESSEL WALK-THROUGH: If you have been searching for a large, high quality power catamaran that is extremely economical to operate, you have just found it! This STEALTH 420 SC Hysucat power catamaran with her newer (2011) Yanmar 480HP Turbo Diesels and foil lift design delivers an extremely comfortable ride. Even at her fast 40 MPH cruise speed, she burns only 1.4 gallons per mile. The owner had the props pitched down to get the boat on plane faster and to improve acceleration giving her a current WOT speed of 50MPH. With larger pitched props this boat will have no problem delivering a WOT around 55 MPH. This STEALTH 42 power catamaran is a perfect boat for getting to the Bahamas and beyond and has no problem out running any potential bad weather while out on your adventures. Although you will most likely spend most of your time captaining from the upper helm station where you can enjoy the sites from a spectacular view, it's a very nice feature to have the lower helm station should the weather take a turn for the worse. INTERIOR FEATURES: Features a large salon with a lower helm station; comfortable seating arrangements; TV; Stereo System; and full galley with stainless steel refrigerator; stove; microwave; and excellent visibility. The two guest staterooms are located aft to port and starboard and there are two full privacy heads (one to port and one to starboard) each equipped with electric flush toilet a sink and shower. Moving forward, the master stateroom features a very large California style master berth with ample storage throughout. Note that by adding a center bulk head in the forward stateroom, it can be easily converted to two (2) separate staterooms each with its own double bed. However, we're confident that you will enjoy this boat the way the owner has designed it by having the extremely large forward stateroom. Another unique feature is that from the salon, you can use the walk up stairs to access the spacious forward bow area in a very safe and convenient way. DECK FEATURES: Starting aft, you will find a remote controlled hydraulic passerelle which makes embarking and disembarking the vessel very safe and easy. The large aft deck swim platform has a fresh water shower and storage compartment. The cockpit has an aft couch that seats four (4) with storage underneath plus the space to set up several large chairs to kick back and catch the sunset. There are also three (3) flush pole mounts should you wish to set up some cocktail table(s) or mount some removable chairs. Moving forward to starboard is an easy stairway with SS grab rails to get up to the flybridge. On the bridge is another fully equipped helm station, large bench seating and gives a spectacular view. Selling my 1973 Islander sailboat! The Islander 36 was listed as one of Cruising World's Top 20 Sailboats, and Zac Sunderland just sailed one around the world. Sailing Magazine described the Islander 36 as "well balanced under sail, stiff and surprisingly fast." There is a big owners association and website. This is a great boat I use to go to Catalina Island in year around. I have endlessly gone through this boat an have redone many of the systems. USCG Documented Vessel - All fees up to date (NO DMV!)If your looking for a great boat that is easy to handle, this is your boat. Watch the videos…Me and my girlfriend can sail this in all weather, single handed is no problem either, just watch out for the Great Whites…they get hungry! So much to list I can't remember it all! There is a survey available that was completed before I bought the boat a little over two years ago. Please ask questions. Here are some Video Links:youtu.be/XxDRhoCOAg8youtu.be/Mkg_nQ-uUvgyoutu.be/n_4v6sx1aUEyoutu.be/_FMT3ejzAHo All the electrical has been completely fixed. I used a IBEW low voltage electrician to all the electrical work. New wire throughout the boat. It has four deep cycle marine batteries that are about 1 year old now. The cabin lighting has been changed to LED and the spreader lights are also LED. This was a lot of money to upgrade. There is a VHF Marine radio installed and a HF Marine Radio that needs an antenna(was researching a way to use the rear stay as an antenna (Just haven't figured it out). There is a Sony stereo connected to four Bose 151 speakers inside. Two outdoor Bose speakers are connected to a external amplifier that gives out plenty of sound to have a fun time. 20 inch Flat screen installed on swing mount. There is a 6 gallon Raritan water heater that connects to the Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel and can also be used on 120V shore power that heats up nicely in a short time. There is an electric head less than 3 months old that dumps into a holding tank (Avalon Harbor Rules). This system works great and can also be dumped while underway. Front "V" birth padding was redone last year and is still virtually new. This boat has a gas stove and oven that both work perfectly that are connected to two 3 gallon propane tanks with all electric shut off controls. In the last year of cooking for many trips I have only used 3 gallons! The holding tank is 10 gallons. The water tanks combined are about 50 - (Never was able to measure them) The diesel tank holds 11 gallons. Foot pump for using the ocean water to rinse items in the sink. Shower in the head with hot water plumbed. The engine is a '88 Yanmar 3GM30 diesel. Well maintained, starts every time with no issues at all! The boat has a Maxwell windlass, 33 lb Bruce anchor, mast-mounted spinnaker pole, Harken Roller Furling Wheel steering and (auto pilot)Autohelm 4000. Any questions please let me know…
