The second owner had the boat from about 1992 to late 2013 when the current purchased the boat, this third owner planned to cruising to Tortola, he added a tremendous amount of equipment, replaced lots of original equipment and then his wife has made him sell the boat, when I inspected the boat out of the water about 5 years ago it had no blisters, when I saw the boat out of the water last fall the boat still did not have any blisters and the owner put three coats of pettit trinadad bottom paint on and waxed the hull, last January the current owner took the boat out in the atlantic ocean for a shake down and encounter gale force winds for three days while going from Beaufot inlet to Charleston, the boat handled and operated very well. 1973 Morgan Out Island Like most everyone I value my boat more than the market; therefore, I'm reducing the price by $1,000 every month until sold and always respecting offers. After 45 years of liveaboard cruising and 32 years with this well-known ketch & 24 transits from Maine to the Bahamas, physical limitations force me to sell. Search "Aythya" on the Cruisers & Sailing forum for posts by Hudson Force for discussions of projects and refits. Read the May 2009 Southwinds Magazine for a review featuring this "turn-key" coastal cruiser. Over the past three decades everything on this boat other that the hull and masts have been refit or replaced.
