1997 Sea Doo Challenger 1800, For Sale is our Sea doo Challenger 1800 jet boat 2 owner boat. Purchased in 2000 and have maintained her well. It is great running order. Just compounded and waxed. Green hull is NOT chalky. New winch was installed at the end of 2015 season. Also we purchased a new seadoo FACTORY boat cover in 2015. We have all documentation any necessary work completed on the boat. Unfortunately Sea doo did not put hr meters on the engines for 97'. I would estimate that we put 25-40 hrs per season on the boat since 2000. Top half of the engines were rebuilt in June of 2012. All 4 cylinders were bored out and new oversized pistons and rings installed. Carbs cleaned. Estimated...Less then 100 hours put on them since the rebuild. -Seats up to 7 comfortably -Twin 110 hp Rotax 787 engines -She likes to cruise at 35mph -She will top out at 67 mph with 2 passengers. -Radio with speakers -Bimini top -All sea doo decals were removed for a cleaner hull look. Up kept and in Excellent condition for 1997. For some reason the middle rear seat upulstry became tough unlike the others and there is a tear in the seat. All other seats/material are as soft as the day we bought her. Seats have been conditioned each year. Contact Seller 2008 Sea Doo Challenger 180,This boat is in outstanding shape and offers a lot of fun and a lot of power.The SeaDoo Challenger is a great boat that offers many features one may not think too much about.For instance, the boat only draw 12" of water since there is no motor outdrive or propto hit on shallow water. Since it is a jet drive, there is no hydraulic trim system to tilt the motor to maintain or break. In addition, jet drives direct water forward and backwards for movement so there is no transmission or outdrives to service with fluids, seals, bearings, etc. Then there is the fact that this boat has a closed loop cooling system with antifreeze! Yes, it does not suck up the water you are boating in and pump it through the engine. Its fuel injected and 4 stroke so there is no oil system like in a 2 stroke motor. This is a win win boat that requires little maintenance and gives you all the time to have fun boating.The facts:Very low hours: 51It has no damage and only minor dock rash on the decal on one side. It is on the side of the boat in the picture in this ad. It is not bad at all, but I want any potential buyer to know. The rash does not scratch into the boat finish/gel coat.The upholstery is in great shape and is very white. No mold or stitching that is tearing and no holes in the seats. The upholstery is not faded. The boat comes with a trailer, good tires, and all lights work.The boat has a nice clean bimini top and brand new cover (paid $400 this month) that is custom fit and has NO straps to hold it down. It has stainless steel ratchet strap that circles the boat. It is extremely easy to put the cover on and take off.I have all maintenance records and service done every year by the dealer locally where it was purchased new.This boat may not seem like it, but there is a lot of storage. The front filler cushion for the bow tucks under the front seat so it is always there when you need it, but not in the way or at home when you do not.All lockers have water drains.The glove box is huge for all the sun tan lotions, keys, wallets, purses, etc.In 2008, SeaDoo changed the design of the dash to provide better readability in the sun versus previous years.With 215 HP, this boat is quick and fast to plane out and is highly maneuverable.Look on boat trader and you will see these boats going for a lot more than I am asking. CLOUD, FL This low hours Sea-Doo Challenger is in very good condition. Its 255 hp Rotax engine can push it and its top passenger load of 8 (eight) person very nicely. The upholstery has no rips or tears and the gelcoat shows it has always been garage stored. Fully equipped with cockpit covers, bimini, stereo, trailer, digital gauges. Boat Test Captain's Report Sea-Doo 180 Challenger SE By Capt. Rob Smith First released in 2005, the 180 Challenger is Sea-Doos answer to entry level boating with a positive twist. Simple, really; they use direct drive which eliminates a lot of the associated maintenance you have with stern drives. This also broadens the area you can boat in because it only draws 12 and adds a margin of safety since you dont have a propeller spinning at 700 to several thousand rpm just under the swim platform. Dont get directly behind any boat as it is taking off as you still can get hurt being this close to any vehicle in motion. Direct drive boats also add an extra bit of handling and quicker response over many of their sterndrive cousins. Once you learn to use the direct drive engine around the docks, you will love it. The power The standard power in the 180 Challenger SE is a 215-hp Rotax direct drive engine. This 4-TEC engine is a three cylinder, four stroke 1.5 liter engine rated for a maximum rpm of 8000. The drive unit is an axial flow single-stage pump with stainless steel impeller and 6 ¼ pump diameter. Cooling is closed-loop, so the only raw water is through the jet drive pump which has Sea-Doos Inlet Clearing System to help clear debris if you pick up any when running. The seating and room onboard Seating is a feature you will appreciate when your friends all want to come along. For an 18 footer, she has plenty of seating with a rated capacity of 8 people, or 1440 lbs. of people and gear combined. In the cockpit, you feel like you are on a larger boat. I imagine that is because the direct drive system doesnt have to eat up more room for the transmission and mechanicals associated with that. Between the large sole locker for boards and seat base storage, I believe you will have room for all the stuff the gang will want to bring along. The surprise in storage was the access to the stern storage lockers. There is dual access through the seat bases on the aft seats, and from hatches on the aft end from the swim platform. I had two PFD kits stuffed in the starboard box alone. Over on port the battery and switch were easily accessible with the lid open. The main entry is across the swim platform and the center walkthrough, which is more stable and keeps you in sight of the
